Wrong to use if you can create the exact same synth

Hi listeners, so a few days ago i was working on some synths, making unique sounds, or at least trying to make them, anyway, i found out that i can create one exact same synth that "shift" created too, he uses that sound in one of his tunes, and now i can make the same sounds using the same synth he used, now, the real question is: Is it wrong to use a sound that you created because you heard it in one tune?
no. why would it be wrong? who decides if it is wrong? not anyone on this forum.
If you have a sound that sounds good, use it man. Seriously what is up with the 'is it wrong to use' threads? There is no jury here. Why would you feel guilty about it? just don't, man.
I'm stoked when I figure out a sound someone else made if it's a sound I really like. It's not like you sampled their song and bounced out their sound. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to have a guilt-free conscience.

+1 at Obelizk.Use what you like.If it is a sound that you recreated or a preset.I once was myself almost a preset nazi but have realized that this was only a phase to come through.But I don't regret not using any presets for the last 3 years.
But When working with samples for example you come to the point where a sample (preset) from a sample library is just a soundcolour or like an osciltator or a waveform that you can start to program a new colour from or maybe it's just a colour you like that you can form to a new sound.
Or even if a preset is exactly what you like and you just feel it,then use it and ignore all those preset nazis or guys that wanna inform you what good inventors they are and how unique they are,especially in psytrance tbh.
You cannot invent the wheel.
Also how often it's the case where people aim to recreate a famous oldschool sound because they like it and cannot find it anywhere?
Or if they find they are lucky and sample it to bring it to another level or to place it around 'own sounds' with full intent.Just do what you like.Fun is the highest in music production imo.And we always try to recreate what we like even if this are our thoughts.

I think OP is asking whether or not theres any chance that could be considered biting Shift (biting = taking something that another is known for as your own, for those ???), not really whether or not to use it, at least thats how I read it.
I don't think that would be biting, even if you use it in similar styled music, but if (theoretically) you use it for the same exact line, with the same fx and modulations, it might be mistaken for sampling his original work and somehow cutting out just the synth line (which is very damn hard if not impossible to do to a final mastered release without there being bleed-over of other elements and sticking out like a sore thumb).
But theres no reason to think he would like, get upset and make an Isra hate-thread, or whatever. If you do all the synth work, its yours no matter who it sounds like.
All that said, I don't really think its possible to really truly duplicate everything one artist does without going to his studio, opening the original project file, outputting the stem, and then getting it mastered in exactly the same way. Which would mean bending space and time, teleporting, and other such things.
As far as using the same sound in your own work, if you like it, use it! If it works to help make your vision reality I see no problem. If you want to make it a tribute track, even better, and I bet Chris himself would be happy to know his work is appreciated to that extent (I would be!).
But the final word is, nothing is truly original, its not likely that in all human history, no one til Shift had the idea to make a sound like that, whether or not the means to make it reality existed at the time, whether or not it was a musician who imagined it. Its just statistically improbable. So dont worry too much about it.

But in answer to some of you guys, i heard a preset that had that "bit" of that sound i heard in one of his tune, so i started tweaking and tweaking and when i was done believe me, the exact same sound was.. well, tweaked.
I believe shift heard that preset, got an ideia for it, and had that specific sound as a result, now for me, i had to hear the preset, remember that shift built something out of that and then i started the tweaking and i ended up with the same sound. (You can even combine leads with it which sounds just great).
The reason i felt like i was cheating or something close to that is because i had to hear his sound to make the same for me, i mean don't get me wrong guys, i can make my own synths, but some of them just makes you want to build an entire song around it, right?

NychroLogic .. I feel you want to be an 'Isratrance Full Member' more fast then its possible with all those strange
questions (I dont want to say what i think of this topic) . You dont have your own ideas ? I dont understand that ..
If you want to be Shift be Shift , Make Shift sounds , Be pro , Maybe one day you will be more Shift then Shift .
My advice for you be NychroLogic , Stop waste your time by being others and start be yourself with your own musical touch .
