Hey guys, I love psytrance!
First of all, I was wondering how people do that thing where they play a guitar riff over and over, and then some sort of machine records what is heard and starts playing the riff over and over in time with the beat, without the person playing. Hope that makes sense, I want to know how to do it?
I have fruity loops and want to start writing some psytrance, but just can't figure out how to start making cool sounds. Is there some preset psytrance sort of sounds I could use to get started which I could maybe find on the web or something?
Basically how would you recommend I get into writing psytrance, it seems really complicated, but I really want to learn. I love my dark psytrance too!
Thanks for any help! |

Don't get 'too' caught up in complications...allow your self to learn through expirimintation...and have fun...there are no 'rules'!
Yeah, this forum has endless amounts of solid advice, but you'll soon discover what works for someone else may not work for you.
The guitar riff thing you're asking about is basically an audio loop, repeating as the artist see's fit...if you play guitar, just record the riff into an audio track in your DAW.. there are a number of virtual guitar amps (and 'guitar synths' available..check out http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=results&st=f&q=guitar+amps
then edit and loop it where you want it!
Also try Albino 3 by Rob Papen..it's a great synth, imo!!
Hope this helps
