I know what you're talking about, man...
I have it myself from time to time, so I'll try and list up a few things that works for me:
1. Take a few days off... there's no reason in forcing yourself to be creative. Creativity seems to live a life of its own.
2. Always bring a pen and paper with you when you leave the house, and just write down your ideas when they pop into your head...
3. Try and listen new music, different genres,
to get new impulses...
4. Nature can be quite inspiring. Take a walk and listen to the sounds that surrounds you
Hope you'll find this useful

Well shroomy thanx for advices, i found that when i am listening to other genres {really really other genres like Rap} i bring something fresh to my music.
Anyways i really should go out of the house sometime, where is my dog, he need's to breath some fresh air

hehehe, yeah i know exactly how u feel man!
best thing for me is to completely forget about my music and leave the studio, u will just get more frustrated if u sit in there and try to force it out.
find somethin else to do, plug in the playstation, come to the blue place ,go camping for a few days etc,... anything!
when u feel u r ready to come back, it sometimes helps to go in and just play around with your synths/programs.
just remember to have fun and not have high expectations of yourself!
i also find that dancing all night/morning at a kick-ass forest party is very inspirational too!!

Exactly...
doing anything but sitting in the studio sure works - though for me it's not enoug h- I must be pressure-free in order to get creativity.
unfortunatelly - our everyday life is full of some kind of pressure here and there - so just need to take everything easy...

well, i've been suffering from this block lately. One thing i learnt is that Don't try to write music when you got this block. Spin, listen, chill, go out to nature, do something else .. and it will come back .. when i get writer's block, i just raise my hands and devote time to other things .. hope this helps .. |
