ive bought auralex kit in the past and are a waste of money, have paid 450 or 500 euros for nothing.
much better go rockwool diy solution for that money.

these basstraps are way more effective than standar rockwooh pannel.

If you're going to buy then go for GIK or Real traps:

It's much cheaper to build your own though. Just buy some high density rockwool and cover them in breathable fabric.           http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

thanks guys, good advices. i will dive in the diy threads on acoustic treatment and maybe go build myself (GIK is kind of nice too though, even Bob K. likes them). the only thing that bugs me now is to get that high density rockwool over to Costa Rica. lets see.

yep the gik room kits are not super expensive when you compare to the dyi route + the time it takes , the standart bass traps cost 70$ . i m thinking about buying them for my new room but have to be sure they are better than standar dyi stuff .

They don't sell them in Costa Rica?
This is not some high tech stuff - they build buildings with it. Assuming that you're not living in tents, I'm sure you can find it in Costa Rica.

It's called rockwool.
Or glasswool. Or mineral wool.

It's this stuff:

its better to clean them with anything else than a vacuum cleaner imo.
