man, very famous djs and artists are using prepitched CDs to play for example. and many liveacts are just press the PLAY-button to start their set. so please mix it with traktor and you will be more professional as so many others, believe me |

Some dj's use cd's and some use vinyls...
U can also record your mix at home and bring it to the party on
minidisk , i'm shure that some famous dj's do that sometimes ...
Minidisk cost much less than a laptop and there is no way u could
f&%k up yo set (if u recorded yo set at home without mistakes ofcourse)
Peace. |

Sound quality of MD's are really bad...
If u use Traktor, at least u can play the tracks at original 44.1 CD quality... |

So in other words, if u use traktor with the original cd's....it will be proffesional enough...
If u use traktor playing mp3's, it's not really proffesional !!!

MD sound quality is only 1/5 th of original 44.1 cd quality...
Might sound good on home stereo, but on a big soundsystem it sounds really flat....believe me, I tried it...
Lot's of important information is lost...(harmonics)...
One Fifth of Original .... that's a lot... |

Superglue--> MD's compression format MD is inferior to CD. The compression rate is near 1:4.
Search the web for ATTRAC codec.
You might be confusing with DAT which usually better then CD. They use 48Khz @ 16Bit rather than 44.1Khz @ 16Bit in normal cd.
Back to the topic, i think there should be no problems with using Traktor. We had discussion a lot of times here. And i can sum it up for you:
Some of the veteran Dj's/ party goers will tell you that this is ridiculous and you are making fun of the hard dj job. But most of the ppl will tell ya: fuck it, you may mix on the washing machine if you'd like, as long as the tracks are good and the music flows.
So here you have it.
Qualitywise: It's all about the sources of your music. Traktor supports Wavs as good as it supports Mp3's. This product comes from a very established company (Native Instruments). So if you use well configured Laptop with good USB card and original copy of Traktor your only problem should be the crowd.
Good luck
