I was hopping i wouldn't need to post here, but as i don't know what to do anymore, here it goes...
I am trying to format my PC, i boot it from the windows original cd, it starts but just doesn't go forward...
I haven't been able to any music for about 3 weeks now, have just been letting it go...
I THINK (not sure) the problem started like this:
1-Got a usb pen from a friend, to transfer some files onto my computer.
2-The device was left on the PC for a couple of days because i was constantly accessing the files.
3-One day, i remebered to remove the pen from the computer, because i didn't need it anymore,i did this after switching off the pc..
4-Nex day, i turn on the computer, the screen comes black, a message like this one appeared:("there are some changes with you hardware".
The computer doesn't respond.
If i restart, it does some continuous blips!(he wants to say something to me, but i dont't understand what)
I tryied to format-it several times, by myself and with the help from friends, who know more about this stuff than me, nothing!
It can't format.. sometimes a blue screen and message appears when trying to format : A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage"
What the fuck is going on, i ask myself...
Is it hardware ?
Was it that Pen Device, tha was removed unproperly or somethin'?
A virus ? (Only connect pc to internet for updates)...
but i transfer some exe files once in a while, from friends computer which has got genuine Antivirus... should be ok.
I have been tryng to phone the guys where i bought the pc from (Sonica Labs Usa), but because of cristmas, bla, bla, no one there.. and now their machine says it's because of the ice storm and shit...
Oh men!!!
Does any of you suspect what it might be, considering what i have written??
Hope so...
Peace...

How many beeps do you get?
Is the machine even getting to the part where it boots windows (windows screen), or do you get an error before?
What steps are you taking to reformat?

i don't know how many bepds my friend..
I prefer no to switch on the pc to find out, because then i struggle to switch it off...
The machine boots the windows, but then, it either shows a blue screen with a message i mentioned above or it stops right where it is, without moving.
I just insert the cd in the drive as normal, it's booting from the right place.
You see?

This is what appears on my boot device from the Bios:
Boot Menu
Boot Menu Type <Normal>
Boot Device Priority <CD/DVD-Rom Drive>
<floppy Drive>
<Hard Disk Drive>
<Ethernet>
Hard drive Order <WDC WDS000AAKS0>
CD/DVD Rom Drive Order <PO-ASUS DRW-1)
Removable drive order <No removable drive>
Boot to Optical devices <enable>
Boot to removable devices <enable>
Boot to network <enable>
usb Boot <enable>
Do you have a clue?
It's probably confusing like this, if it is don't bother....
Thanks

that's a strange problem , get a new copy of windows and try again , could be that the cd is scratched or is corrupted somehow

probably you need the S-ATA drivers on a floppy disk to get access to the HDD ...
when setup starts loading drivers press <F6> and laters on <S> to specifiy additional devices.
if your PC don't have a floppy drive ...
the only way would be to to integrate them into the setup with a tool called nLite.
(has to be done with another PC, of course)
... before setting up new windows you should try pressing <F8> after all the bios messages,
just when windows starts loading and the select *save mode* or *last good know configuration*.
good luck! http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject |

It really sounds like an issue with the boot loader, but it would help if you could actually provide specific data, particularly with the error message. All those hex number codes in the error mean something, and can help point in the right direction.
When you say with the CD inserted, it is booting as normal, do you mean it is booting the windows setup from the CD, or do you mean that it actually boots into windows from the hard drive?
If you are getting a 0x0000007E error, we best approach is to run some utilities in the recovery console of the windows install CD. Make sure to remove an USB pen drives before you do this. The from windows recovery console run:
1) Fdisk - set the HardDrive partition as active
2) FixMBR - resets the MasterBoot Record on the drive (this tells the BIOS where the operating system is)
3) FixBoot - resets the boot sector & boot.ini. This should also copy over the NTLDR files
