you should start a new thread for World Bridge even though it doesn't have the lineup yet that at least has the date in the event thread title. since the date IS confirmed. so people can start marking it on their calendars.
since there is another east coast festival the same weekend...
and people might make mistakes that were planning on coming to WB...
and that would be tragic...

The dates are in the event calendar but who plans by that anymore?! lol
Everything should be up real soon.

Oh my god. Yes.
I've lost track of how many times I've searched for info about a WB festival this summer. Last year was one of the best experience I've ever had at any event.
I was just about to purchase Desiderata tickets... info please as soon as you can! I'm waiting to see what you all have in store!

The lineup cannot be released right this moment, but please rest assured that it will top last year if that means anything!!

But will it top Desiderata? Might dedicate some time and energy to come to a festival at the end of the summer, but I'm not gonna lie, it will probably be based a lot on the lineup. That party's lineup is incredible, but it's lacking in any major chill talent (yes, i know entheogenic is on there, but blah) and is kind of weaker on the morning trance side. Lets see whatcha got! |

if you are relying on who has the most biggest names WB will probably not be so appealing. To me world bridge has a totally different feeling than the other fests in this country. ITs not about the amount of attendees or ticket sales. ITs not about whos got the largest worldwide recognition. Alot of the artists are the unknown or the underdogs of the scene. People ive never heard of made me walk away and take a second to think about what was really happening. The people doing the line up know what they are talking about so even if you may not have the artists all ring a bell when you see the lineup trust that they will deliver a deep and genuine psychedelic experience.

We are here to celebrate psychedelic music that aliens would be impressed to hear, if you follow the underground then you will enjoy yourself to the fullest.Nobody is competing here

I don't doubt the talent that will be present. But it's not about the fact that the names are big, just that the music is freaking awesome. I've been wanting to see Yab Yum/Ajja for a while now purely because I think their music is fantastic and really psychedelic. I'm certainly down to sample whatever "underground" artists are at WB and compare. I'm sure I'd have a great time at either one.
On a somewhat related note, sometimes it actually feels to me like there is this reverse mainstream (haha reverstream) thing going on in psytrance, where the people that are more well known are actually less respected by people that I would think would be all about it. The more underground, the better/purer it is or something. But it's a catch-22, because after enough people catch on to the lesser known artists and more popularity is gained--even though the music might continue to be just as psychedelic and meaningful--it's not as worthwhile to seek it out. I don't get it.
But, this is not always the case. Just seeing if anyone noticed this at all.
I guess it's all about evolution, really. Psytrance has such a short shelf life usually that the best artists, IMO, are the ones that have their own sound, but consistently deliver stuff that nobody's heard/expected.
Wow...don't know why I felt like writing so much... |

Wow.... I may be at fault for starting this when I brought up Desiderata. I'm so sorry. I don't mean to create any competition or agrument here.
I have no doubt that whatever/whoever plays WB will be amazing. I remember, for example, that I *really* dug Dragon's set last year and I had never heard his music until I got there. His MySpace indicates he'll be there again this year (leaked lineup info! omgggzzzz!). That's wonderful. I think we should all be happy to see so much beautiful music on our coast.
The vibe down in Deerfields was certainly magical and unforgettable and I can't speak highly enough of it. I arrived late and the gate crew was not operating so I got a little harshness the next day when someone noticed I didn't have a bracelet on! But that all got sorted quickly and (more or less) painlessly. Otherwise, though, I couldn't ask to feel more welcome. Anywhere.
But a lineup is important, because ultimately we the party-goers get to sample the clips on teh internets and decide what we want to hear. I know it's coming and I don't mean to press. Take your time, put it together, post all the info when you're good and ready. Patience I most definitely have. The emotion I was trying to convey was genuine excitement.
There's going to be a lot of smiling, dancing people that weekend, north and south. I just want to find out what I might be driving 15 hours to hear. Thanks in advance for all your hard work. |

I wasn't trying to do an argument thing either when I made that comment.
I just noticed in the other thread that someone almost made a boo boo and double booked themselves. lol |
