WOW!Alex i know your were only about 18 years old or even younger when UTTACHAOS took GOA/PSY to Asheville and got notice in DreamCreation well before the Touch name came about. I know Tamus is spinning as Brainlizzard and uttacrayons is spinning as Nate.
So that leaves the rest, the MOST IMPORTANT PART of the " legendary " Asheville crew:
THE LOCALS you know the DANCERS the ones who have given the support. the only reason why it's even there.ITS ABOUT THE PEOPLE NOT THE PRODUCTION!!! Its the same tribe just not the same name. Even the ceremony Mamas are apart of it along with many new faces and energy making it happen.
Even you Alex, you'll be there. Remember yet? you also made it "legendary"

i know lots of people aren't to knowledged on how deep the rabbit hole goes with neuro/trauma but there is light in the dark and plenty of cheese.

i remember too! was the days of chaos for sure and asheville was bouncing.
i will probably not make it up for this. just cant afford to pay and totally agree w/ you alex.

I am very excited for this party...and any other ones that happen in Asheville. : ) I'll be at them ALL. (as long as they're outdoors...hehehe...)
Who would want there to just be one group throwing parties in ANY musical genre? Not me...that's for sure. It's called a community for a reason. In San Fran there are NUMEROUS, to many to list!, psygroups...and sometimes they merge (like at How Weird)...and sometimes they do their own thing, which is much appreciated too. That's how I like it. Can you imagine every town/city only having 'one' group of organizers for each style of music? That would be horrible!
Community is meant to GROW...expand...build upon itself...branch out...and become a larger unity. I'm sure that's what any group would like to see as they embark on bringing new music (such as psytrance) to an area. It's not a corporation, it's a community...it's about how widespread and diverse this family can become, while being unified. 
We're all getting prepared for the grand party in 2012...don't ya think? I mean, the more the merrier, right? It's all psytrance, it's all radical expressionism, it's a tribe of colorful gnomes bopping around to the beat, wherever you go....and it's all one global community when you get down to it.
The love of the heartbeat brings us together...MoE, , Gaian Mind, Dropout, Touch Samadhi, Geomagnetic, etc., etc., etc., etc. and Those People. It's great to see this expanding in the states. We could ALL use more parties...more dancing, more playing, more, more, more! |

well, to clarify for anyone who thought I had a problem with "those people" (or anyone else for that matter) doing a party in asheville... that's not the issue at all.
..the issue being that i'm doing a Bastard live set which will probably consist of some of my own stuff with ALOT of Shapestatic material that Kri and I wrote together... however, because of local politics, Shapestatic (i.e. Kri) is not invited to play live at the party, but I am... go figure?
you "boys" better cooperate better next summer... just a general complaint, never meant to point fingers in one direction or the other..

i think it is great to have other events going on in town it is a sign of growth in trance. I think all of us are to benefit from it. ANd maybe things will work out and i could make it out |

i wish i could make it to this but alas i will be going out to SHAMBHALA festival in British Columbia to play some chillout.... i was bummed to hear that this event is that same weekend....
i am jealous of you all who get to stomp on deerfields this weekend.... its going to be amazing.
this just flows perfectly. its great to see other people making efforts to make gatherings happen. i am thankful that the energy to organize events is spreading. we have a growing healthy scene here with much support and giving people more events to attend will only support the movement as a whole.
my time in asheville has been the most transformative and exciting time in my life. i have much gratitude towards the family that has expanded and enveloped me and allowed me to explore who i am in this amazing community and context. i recognize the levels of complexity present and hope that minor dramaz between people will come out in the wash as they always do. i know though that psytrance has had an immeasureable effect on me and my development as a person (not always positive, but coming out on top lately) and this land and people are ready for more.
i think you should touch your toes 2x and breathe deeply before posting first thing in the morning bastard. hehehe

I am completely thrilled that this event was organized. After seeing the different opinions posted, I figured I'd post my perspective as well..
My first major exposure to a real "neuro" meltdown was at the Goa Gil party in NC last may, as was for most of you guys. As a dj I had a lot of neuro styled tracks and really preferred that sound over some of the full-on stuff. However, I think that the way Gil presented it with 18 hours of bombardment, it was a bit unorthadox compared to the nature of a traditonal trance party. The Gil party was enough raw neuro to last me a whole year and I love the stuff...
I think my point is that the way this event is lined up with so many awesome dj's and artists, our personalities will reflect in our sets, giving a really nice changing flow of sound and emotion.
I don't think that people should have the idea that it's going to be just a death match between all of us because it is an "all neuro trance" event, but that the nature of the music will be of the harder, darker, crazier nature than the normal evolution of psy at the traditional events.
I personally wish that there were more of the neurotrance styled events. For me, that style allows a deeper venture into my own mind and really creates a since of being in a trance. Don't get me wrong, I love all types of psytrance and the events that embrace the whole culture; but as a dj and a party-goer I really enjoy the motor/neuro sound with intelligent layers and direction. (it's all I listen to ... )
I'm all for pushing this music foward, and inward and outward and and and and... as far as we all can take it ! =)

WOWZA!! Aren't we all very opinionated!! hehehe..I am so excited to dance again with all of you at Deerfields and YES to some dark twisted up NEUROTRANCE! We are proud to bring each and everyone of our artists here to enjoy this community event! Thank you all for coming to Asheville...
SO sorry for those of you who feel that we need to always book from outside of the US to really have a good line up! Personally I am thrilled that we are going to support our own ...and look at it this way, it would get pricey to travel around and see all of these artists even in the states...sooo east coast and west will mingle and all for the price of only ONE event!!! I love what we are doing here in the states and want to support it all that i can....and yes i have been to larger out of the country events...hell i just support trance !!!!
As far as Gil goes...Not only did i have the time of my life , a spiritual awakening, and dance myself sily when he came to Ashevilee but I am going to go see him again in two weeks in San Fran AND Those People will bringing him back to Deerfields in 2007!!! That is how much i loved his energy and his music...He was the seed that inspired this party and i am thankful for the experience of dancing allllllthe way through his set....which i found to be NOT BORING!

and to make sure that I wasn't misunderstood, I loved the Gil Event last Year and will always make it to see him if at all possible. I guess I meant to express what a mental battle he put me through within myself which completely drained me and set my mind free... I heard the tracks he played in the back of my mind for weeks !
As soon as I got home I jumped online and ordered his Karmagedon Cd, left it in the player for over a month trying to make sense of it all ahahahahaa...
so now days.. I make sure I promote Gil as much as I can to all who are entering our culture around here and let them know that he is at the Top of the food chain for most of us. ( I have a nice little quote from him that I put on my "myspace page") www.myspace.com/djdragon604

dont be fooled, the whole debate on lite, dark, neuro, full on, these were introduced by the government, to keep us from dancing together.
