Hi guys,

how do you introduce and end pads? this seems to be a simple question but its bothering me for some days now...if i once use a pad and i simply fade it out with a filter or just the volume it always creates this 'the track ends now' feeling but if it ends apruptly the change in the athmosphere is to drastic without having a huge break afterwards...
so the dilemma is if i want to use a pad i'll have to have some pad there the whole time til the next break...
any tips how to get around this?
heres an example (without pad in the middle part):

Hi .. I am not a expert or a pro but what i have learnt over the years about pads is to me they are placed in the song at a cetain part to give and make the illusion of a lift off into outer space thats what a think....

here a few tips .. have a pad befor your main lead so your main lead takes the listener to the next level and you can then fade out your pad

you can add a gated effect to your pad half way through changing in rythem and giving it some extra modulation db glitch can be fun

you can add a new layerd pad that matches the bassline and groove of the song

Pads are often used in intros and outros

as for the feeling of a pad ending i think its a feeling that you might have, that wants something else to fit your expectations so dont be hard on your self practice and practice.... good luck i heard the demo it was very good
