wel.. 'sampling their syntsh which they control with midi' is exactly the same thing as using audio or midi
i dont wuite understand your defintions.... using midi means using a midi sequencer to create your tracks. virtually everyone does this, excapt someone maybe creating a track thatsa totally live performed, and just recorded straight on to a multitracker or something
at the same time, it is possible to build a trcak using only samples, and no instrumental parts that you have recorded yourself, or perhaps using softsynths, ie: not using any external synth hardware this is what i think your getting at
as for the advantages, well hardware synths are, at the end of the day, better, more flexible and versatile than softsynths
but softwynths are cheaper, and you can dump what youve created to wav rather than having to record it (this requires some decent recording hardware to get the same noise free sound as a softwynth dump)
also it just depends on your personal tastes in how you want to make music |
