I bet I'm just missing something simple here, but...
I'll record a long vocal track, for example,
then I'll cut it up and copy and paste parts of it to different tracks.
Then, when I try to use the audio editor on the pieces, and try to pitch shift, I'll pitch shift, but nothing will happen.
Also, if I take the cut audio sample and extend the sides of it, it'll stretch out to reveal the whole vocal recording I recorded.
Is there some way to separate the pieces so that each one can be messed with independently of the whole? |

The function is called Bounce Selection... it should be in one of the right-click menus.

if you got 1 audio sample, cut this in the middle.
rightklick on one, edit and example edit speed...
there will appear a window what says [NEW?]
then press ok... this means you only edit audiofile 1, otherwise it will edit the speed of the other sample too.
littlebit strange at first, but it makes sence^^
