So I don't really have any problem with getting cool sounds but my main issue is arranging them rhythmically.
I've been listening to a lot of Magneto lately and I've always struggled to get something similar going.
For example this track - http://youtu.be/eMeEvWSz8mI?t=52s - has all these crazy techy one shots going off in a cool rhythm but how does one actually sequence it?
Does every individual sound get an different channel (maybe ending up with 25+ tracks for just a short section) or would you just pull a whole lot of one shots into a drum machine like Battery and program them with MIDI or is just programing a whole lot of rhythms using one sound, bouncing them each out to their own audio track and then chopping and arranging - sort of like how those crazy darkpsy leads are programmed?
It's really the one thing I struggle with the most but imo it's what gives the music a real psychedelic edge.

I was never an expert in that kind of parts, but I would say it's a lot of channels, most of them audio, with most effects in a bus.

heheh, its preety simple how i do it (not really hi tech and flashy) for me its about crating interesting one shot synth sounds and then its all about arranging them in a meaningfull order it may be an awesome sound but put in a wrong place it can slow down the flow of the track... i hope i manage to record the tut by the end of next week because im on the road atm...

Do you think it's the same idea you find in hi-tech/dark-psy lead/fx arrangement that are constantly changing every 1/8th note or so?

dont know i dont listen to "hi-tech/dark-psy" but i think that would be tooo much for me to fill every 1/8 with something I think a few well placed and interesting one shots are much more pleasing then going ak-47 style with a bucket load of oneshots. Silence betwen the one shots is important to, because it is also giving something to the sequence.
i guess you can look at it as something like the "question & answer synths" but this is a bit shorter its like a few drunk dudes grunting in some conversation
one goes "BLAAARGHHH" (a totally sensible thing to say when drunk) the other one is first like "UMMMM!!!" (trying to make sense whats been said) a small pause untill one of the brains starts working then "AAAAAA" "BRFFFTT" and so on A weird conversation made into craaaazy peice of music www.psilocybian.com / www.facebook.com/psilocybian
