guys,
how do you work with vocal samples or fx samples for example
when you want to use like a dozen of them throughout an atmospheric proggy track for example
how would be a n ice way to do it in ableton live and still have a feel for a live performance
thanks           saii.rave.ca

when did it matter which sequencer you use... Isn´t it more of an arranging issue more than a sequencer issue?

U can categorize them into "one shots" and "tempo loops".

The "one shots" u can just trigger any time u want, so u don´t need to warp them.

For the "tempo loops", u need to warp them, so u can trigger them live, without taking care of beatmatch.

But I guess it will be a pain in the ass. Playing dozen of samples is not so confortable...           LOADING...

Why not just load the samples into a rack and trigger them when you want them to be played? I don't see the difficulty here unless I'm not understanding what you're asking (in reference to playing it live).           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

ok thats more of wat im lookin for..i was just wonderin wat people found to be the most effective way to do this in regards to things like filtering on the fly or any type of effects on the fly to give it the live feel of "real" PSY.

like what i remember from back in the reason days was to assign different samples to different parts of the midi keyboard and play them...that sort of thing but optimized for ableton...whats ur methods ?

I've only done live sets with chill where I just trigger different loops. I have a korg padkontrol and I assign each pad to play that given channel.

With a sample rack you can assign the sample to different notes on the keyboard and trigger them that way.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

drumrack, load up heaps of shit u wanna play, adjust by doubleclick each slot. play the keys and feel like a god

otherwise just put them all into the slots as mentioned and control them with things like padkontrol. but for the loadz of stuff u wanna put in and work with u will not be that satisfied with these few buttons.

so i think u gonna be pretty cool with 88 keys and the drumrack or any other stuff to get the shit on your keys

cheers, enjoy           FUCK GENRES, LOVE MUSIC!!!!
