i don´t think that would be a problem.
my cats never go near the speakers and least to the woofer, they just ignore it as it is. the only concern i had is that they loved to be siting on the speakers and when climbing down sometimes their pats just went way too near the woofer, but then i only put lots of stuff above the speaker, now there is no room for the cats so they just sit above the crt monitor or in the sofa hehehe. |

cats needs to scratch things for sharpen their nails ( not for fun) so they look for the right place..it could be a sofa or precious woofers !
what you need to do is build some kind of place to they scratch..its simple pick some old carpet and roll up in a piece of wood like a plank or board and show to them, stimulate them to scratch there !
once you got it they will never note the existence of the woofers

yeah i know they dont do it for fun
my cats like to sit everywhere so they jump on things
and they sometimes play with little things near the monitors and they can scratch it by mistake
like lithium's cats my cats ignore the woofers too, but im affraid they will do it by mistake and not for sharpen their nails
but i did put some stuff above and near the monitors and now they dont want to sit there anymore so i think its ok now..
