i would put a bowl of wolf-urine near your monitors.
that should be determent enough. ^^

and if you prefer a more "technical" solution, i would build some sort of cage of fine wire netting.

boom psylo

no, i would put the monitors into the cage, make sure, that there is enough space between the speakers and the wire, and your monitors should be save (as long as this construction is stable)

If you raise your speakers to ear-level the cats shoun't be able to get near them.

My monitors have exposed woofers, and our cat has never gone near them. I don't think you really have to worry.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

have them play pumping kicks and basslines all the time, that should hold them cats off as well...           .

the other idea (inspired from the urin story) would be to go to a pet shop and ask, if there is something, which man can't smell but cats can and don't like.

Close the door.
Cats hate orange peel.
But what colin siad is true. If your monitors are on the floor they are in the wrong place.           www.audio-presto.co.uk post production audio and synth modifications / repairs.
