Hi!
Thanks a lot to you all for your replies and your great suggestions... a lot of names have been mentioned, i'll explore and see which ones touch me the most.
And kukushka - you were right, I am looking more for tracks that have actual female-singing, rather than mere female vocal-effects here and there...

Avalon by Celestium and Aiwana (Downbeat Remix Featuring Lisa Thelin) by Son Kite are two of my favourite "actual singing, not just vocal FX" downbeat tracks of all time. Not an ethnic wailer in sight. |

so far the list (ok. i gave it only a quick glance) includes tracks with female oohs and aahs + some more seroius vocal achievements but are there any female chill artists/producers?

I think Rena Jones would qualify as a chill artist/producer, although I don't recall she ever uses her voice in her tracks. She's an amazing string instrument artist - cello, violin, etc. Magical stuff. Her new album 'Driftwood' has some gorgeous music on it.
Also, one half of Kaya Project, Hibernation and Foxglove is Natasha Chamberlain. She's Seb Taylor's partner in life and in the studio.
