I would get a Access Virus but seriously it doesnt rally matter what synth you get for those sounds. With any synth plus FX and some skills you can make almost any sound.
The Virus just has tons of features so you should never get bored with it. |

indeed. it doesnt really matter what synth ya use for creepy sounds. cant even go wrong with VSTi's for that matter.
creepynes and dark color to the sound is usually added just by: cutting off hi-frequencies, adding deep reverb with long tail and some delay, using pitchshifter if needed (downshifting -46% helps alot for some dark atmosphere), using compression to almost subliminal level (when sound's not too audible but quite detectable) - and there ya go.
i donno if these techniques apply to dark psy-trance, but i use them for my PowerNoise and Experimental Electronic side project.

this type of question always pops up every month. it doesn't matter what synth you use, as long as you use it properly. |

Not sure what you mean by creepy but if you can get a hold of one, try the nord lead 3. It creates some very nasty ripping tearing type sounds aswell as sid-station style electronic noise. Not so good for conventional psy-squelch ala NL2 but does the harsh dark stuff very nicely. |

of course you can use nearly any synth to make nearly any sound, but personally i find that some synths 'feel' darker / cleaner / shinier / grungier / warmer than others.
for VSTI i find FilterscapeVA to be a 'dark' synth. it's capable of lots of squealing, distorted, clangy noise. it comes with the (also superb) Filterscape multi-SVF plugin:

I've gotten the best dark/evil sounds from Reason actually. It just works great for that.
If a had to name a hardware synth its the Virus as i said before. It because of the build in FX i think and the dual filters. I really think that effect are essential for dark/evil sounds. |

about synths i can't help you because i don't have any....but there is one thing i want to say....i make dark too and all the synths (if is good) make good dark noises.. because the dark noises is a noise like the others.... the different is the notes that you play....play menor chords and dark melodics and almost sounds came to dark.. The notes and melody that is who make our sound dark... |

i would add FM (no complex FM, just like the FM amount in most synths) and some filter saturation.
but then vsts like vanguard dont have those and i still get creppy/noisy sounds from them
off course, every possible type of distortion is your friend and pitch envelopes and white noise, etc etc etc roll a joint or STFU :) |
