Hey peoples...

what would you recommend up to date?

beyer dt 770 pro?
beyer dt 770 pro 80 ohm?
beyer dt 990 pro?
audio technica a900?
beyer dt 880 pro?

what exactly is the difference between 250ohm headphones and 80 ohm hp?

thanx in advance...or would you even recommend a completely other product?

I'm not sure this is correct but the more ohms the bigger the resistance, so the less noise there is..           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

yeahr maybe...but both are of the same price...like dt 770 pro 250ohm and dt 770 pro 80 ohm...so if it`s like that, that one of them is better...with less noise...they would charge more i think...           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/headphones.html

mentions headphone impedance about 3/4 through the page. many more pages if you just search for "choosing headphones" on google.

from what I heard the impedance affects sound in this way:

best thing is to have the same impedance in the headphones as in the amp = exact level as it is

less impedance in the headphones than in the amp = lower volume level, which also implements a change of the frequency response!

higher impedance in the headphones than in the amp = higher volume level, which also implements a change of the frequency response!

hope that helped to clear the situation up           https://soundcloud.com/hazak

i got a sennheiser HP25 few weeks ago...

it is smaller then i imagined it =(

but indeed...best piece of sound possible, really loud....isolation great.

cons would be short wire, already managed to involuntarily unplug it several times...
the Y axis is not bad either, gives it a cool look.

thx for the replys, but the sennheiser hd-25 is more like a dj headphone..and i even got a good dj headphone...but i want something with flat, true sound and wich is even taking care of diffuse-fields...like good monitors to judge my mix right and stuff l.t...
i even want one that goes around the ear completely..

i did check the akg k141 and k240 but i don`t like them much for psychedelics...but anyway i will go to the shop and will test all of them in that pricerange up to 150€...and will see what happens..

thx again..greeeez

sony mdr 7506 are excellent if you don't want too spend to much money, they're nice and flat, and are apparently better than the higher 7509 model. anyways that's what i have and so far they've been great.

i actualy got those sony ones...but my rats ate the wire so i will give them in repair and after that i will sell them, cause honestly they gave me not that satisfaction of crisp and clear sound especialy in the high end,in my opinion,...so i now got technics rpdj and they are quite nice..but even dj headphones wich is not that bad...but everything below 50hz takes no effect..well,i will do an a b comparision with my ones and will check out if there is such a big difference..maybe i just stay with the technics cause i`m used to their sound by now.           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

well...not sure abut how un-flat hd-25 is compared to others...but i saw some reviews about it, and some frequency charts....bass and mid were one of the flattest i saw, they mentioned a very small issue around snare freqs that made it a bit more present i think, and i think this one brings more far dynamics freqs closer, so you hear better the details or something like that...
i tried a few sony before (not for long, not enought to elaborate precised pros and cons)

then again...you can only go as far with headphone monitoring, and it still wont be equal to normal monitor monitoring...

since atm im living on a 38ft sailing boat, heavy flat monitors are really out of my league right now, dont even got space for them hehe =p
