Nord lead 1 and 2 are fantastic for bass. I think over 50% of all psytrance artists use it for bass! |

Just about everything can make a bass.
The question is how you deal with it after you got the sound - eq, notes, etc.

Although many ppl can't stop saying bad things about them...many many artists use the VB1 and the Tau, like input said, and I think they are great tools.
I personally use the VB1 or the Tritium, but as Mike said, there's much more to it than the machine u use...
Compression, eq, notes, and most important it must fit with the kick!

i'm no pro, but i think its best to use basses that no eq needs to be done to them, no compression and nothing.... just one oscillator, you get a real meaty sound.
tau-pro is my favorite so far.

I dunno.. I think that everyone has their own tricks for bass, and mine tend to change from song to song. I typically do eq work on my bassline so it fits the kick drum better. I usually don't use compression as an insert, I usually do a group bus and route my kick and bassline through that..
I am using the tau for my newest project, but I usually use the ES-1 for most of my bass. I did have a good experience using the v-station for bass, but I had to do some augmenting to it...

Last songs i always used the z3ta+, it is a alround synth, with some tweaking you can reach many different basses.
V-Station is another favourite.
