This is a fallacy, they are built on the same kernel and are identical.

Pro might 'seem' more stable because of the name and the price..

It is posssible to upgrade (read:hack) home to pro with some tweaks because the differences are negligible. Additional netwokring and file sharing components related to what Microsoft thought would be used in a business envinronemnt are in Pro and that's about it.

It's the same OS. There is no big diffrerence and certainly no stability difference (asuming you're all patched up)

the main difference is on the options, but its a mistake to trust MICRO$OFT, just like Tomos sad, they have the same kernel, but its not smart to think that they didnt edit any shit

personally i tried a new OS from M$ called Win XP SP2 Fundamentals for Legacy PC's, its a thin-client OS that was modified for enterprise companies who dont whant to upgrade the hardware (for pentium 1, 2 ) and i was amazed how smooth it ran, especialy the option to choose if u want to install IE or not (though it doesnt remove it totaly, but thats not hard to do ), but they kinda did somethin on the kernel, the OS runs so shitty on new PC's, and u cant install it on RAID drives

this is the stupid thing, Micro$oft doesnt think about us, they never did, and never will, i posted it some months ago, and ill post it again

nLite ins the answer, the best way to know ur OS, is to manage it how u want, from the start

ps, I'd prefer u to test Win2000 SP5 if ur searchin for stability/reliability, but some sequencers dont run on it (SX 3 didnt, SX 2 worked damn fast) and the main problem, DRIVER SUPPORT , u might have problems with them, but sometimes XP drivers work on 2k and vice versa           PSYKS

i m not sure you can tweak it for audio with the home edition ,not as much as the pro maybe

shure, that because in pro you need to deactivate even more stuff!
