Dou you think its a good idea to use in PC computer setup, some apps that suppose to optimize the cpu , like registry, cleaner , fixer, defrag, spyware, backup and other fixes???
i have listened many things - contradictory so ur opinions are wellcome
i tried systweak advanced system optimizer and i like some features, specially how it backups ur system files.
or any other suggestions

no man, on my point of view, the lessen apps you install, specially apps that messes on your registry, the better...
the best solution would be installing Tiny XP, or similar...
i did it recently, installed Tiny XP Rev 6...which i think is the latest..
and it made a HUGEEE difference...on Live, it looks like i bought a brand new, 2x stronger machine...

Install TinyXP only if you plan to use the system as a DAW...no internet usage.
There are many components disabled in these stripped versions which could cause instability when using internet connectivity and applications. Other services might also be disabled such as print spooler, system restore and many more.

I got away with basic internet usage on TinyXP. It wouldn't let me install my p.o.s. Tascam control surface though.. |

no problem at all with internet usage with TinyXP....
it even let you choose if you want IE7 or Firefox when installing...fully compatible with almost anything we could need...
true, a few more specific services are left out...but most of them you can find downloadable on the internet also...

well, the only thing about TinyXP that doesnt make it the greatest thing is it drivers compatibility...i installed mine and had quite a headache cause since the drives were incompatible with my laptop, it would show bluescreen of death before starting up windows...
the best solution is to install it with 0 drives...and you manually install them, that should make your firewire work....you just gotta find the right drivers for it...

Where you get the idea that you get instability and that there should be any issues with using the internet?
Sure some things are disabled...that's the whole point!
I sure don't want system restore no matter if it's on my DAW or my workmachine.
Print spooler is there on rev5 at least, and that's one of the most slimmed down versions.
Networking, printing and internet works just fine on all five machines I have rev5 on.
I use them for a wide variety of tasks and the only issues I had was to find some drivers, like firewire and PCMCIA for my laptops.

i use avast AV and comodo Firewall at all times...
since i recently formatted the machine...i dont have a spyware cleaner right now...but usually i use search&destroy (IN OFFLINE MODE, without real time watching)
no registry crap at all..i find those the worse...
for defrag i use diskeeper, but i dont have a straight opinion about the need of defragging...
sure...the HD gets slower when too fragmented...but everytime i do use a defrag, i always find my computer maybe a bit faster, but more buggy and in a near future to be even more slower then it was before i defrag...specially the windows defrag....i swear...i NEVER got positive results after i used it...
then again...if you keep you HD (at least the boot one) clean....with around 50% free..(the minimun diskeeper sugests is 20%, below that you start seeing major slowdown) you shouldnt need a defrag any time soon...
the best thing you can do, which is 100% proved to work...is to keep your stuff simple, and easily backupable, that way you can format your boot hd every 6 months or so...(maybe even less, 4 in 4 months....i recon i like to dl alot of crap off internet, i woudlnt mind formating every 4 months)
