I've been running it for about a week or so now.
Now this is coming from someone who detests Vista: It's definitely better across the board. I'm not a fan of the new taskbar but that can be switched to operate pretty much like the XP/Vista one did.
I'm running Ableton Live 7 on it and have had no problems so far with it or any of my VSTs. I decided to give it a go because I was getting out of memory errors when mixing down a particularly large track in XP. Had no problems doing so in Windows 7 so I'm going to stick with this for a while.
But I had a fairly good experience with Vista when I started using it (other than having to update old hardware) which quickly degraded as time went on.
I've had a few blue screens and random restarts no more often than Vista or XP so it's a fairly stable build. I'm suspecting most of them are from shoddy 64 bit drivers.
I'd say go for it if you want to run 64 bit and have at least 4 gigs of RAM, but I'd dual boot in case you decide to go back. |
