well gotta know that i was looking for some topic what talks about the improvements for musical production. i have clear in my mind that windows vista doesnt' work right because ask for so much drivers, when install or run something new, but here is my question about how good could it be windows 7 in musical production, specially in live ableton 8..

I can't speak for Ableton, but I am very happy with win 7. Works like a charm! imo more stable than xp, by a long shot!

I use Windows 7 with Live. It works fine with Live but works poorly with just about everything else.

i have windows 7 32 bit, works perfect with cubase 5 and ableton 8!!actually,works better than xp in many aspects.besides,no more drivers installations(besides sound card),much quicker install than xp.....go for 7!!           Signature:

how much ram can you stuff into a machine running win 7 x64 and does it really make a performance difference after 4 gigs ?

Not sure about the numbers, but it's orders of magnitude like 1TB or something.
The performance matters if you are using more than 4 GB. With the latest VSTs each weighing quite a lot, you can easily fill up those 4 GB.
