I think its more a joke for the guys who get nagged to turn that shite down, not a slant on women, at all

I mean, cmon, how many women do you know who are into synths, let alone modular synths?
I know...3 female producers and none of them are into modular, whereas I know off the top of my head at least 10 guys who are into modular. Not that my sampleset is a perfect indication of the population...
I know they're out there, but they are definitely a LOT less of them so the enthusiasm shown in that forum I wouldn't peg as 'sexist' personally

My wife has no it's rest in synths etc. but I don't care. A happy relationship of 16 years now is not based on liking everything the other does. Variety is the spice of life. Some comments in that thread are obviously from men who need a smack over the head but that's the majority of men for you I've found.
My 20 months old son on the other hand loves playing with my sub Phatty moog so I'm tossing up either the Volca Bass or Volca Keys for his second birthday gift...
