wich laptop?

i was looking for a laptop to produce with for a while now... and i found some verry cool things like the new ticomsy/acer
or the mac g4, im not decided if i wanna work with pc or mac,
so if you know any perfect or just good laptops to produce with, please help and give me details!!! thx in advance

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100. P2.4 Ghz. Works great and was cheap. I think it was around $1150 when I got it new. You definitely need a different soundcard for it though. The onboard is horrible. I'm using it with an Echo Layla and it flawless.

...if u have to work with logic, u need a mac, otherwise the acers are just running fine...don t know yet about centrino...though it must work better i think.

...if u go for pc...try to get some experiences about centrino.
should be faster, should do less noise, the battery should have a longer running-time and the hole box won t get as hot. -muchos, hae ?! =(-;

im long time mac user, and im telling you dont waist your money on that furnitures
buy amd based laptop, or even better go for a station, its much convenient for further upgrading, and you will have the best setup for running lots of plugins.

centrino is tech. by inteŁ ( the reason why eventually get a mac...or amd =((-8 )
the cpu cyclefreq. is about 1,3 ghz which is the same as approx 2,8 ghz...therefore they have all the advantages mentioned above. though i don t know how they work with noise-appyz...

i would go for steady machine for production at home, and there is a fair steady monster named AMD barton 2500, with gigabyte GA-7N400 pro2 motherboard you will get performance that will help your productivity, you also should get an AERO cooling unit for better stability and kingston ram at least two pieces of 512 3200
that my last words to whoever needs a new production tools now, and if you will have any further question feel free to contact me.
cause a laptop is cool for live, when most stuff where rendered before (at studio pc) but for production its sux, it cant handle lots of work in once and its need to be mixdown each and every stage.......
it just cant handle FAT FAT FAT processing needs that todays plugins so like to have in the same stability that a station do, and it shure cant be configured specially for audio, in terms of chipset comptability with the attached audio cards..........
and dont be fool by the look, get a descent case and be picky about what you put inside, branded pc's and laptops as well are fool of avarage needs parts. |

hmmmmmm, verrrrry nice infos here!, i checked the centrino, was the one i wanted to buy, not bad, really nice, then i saw the link of jeto, wooooow what monster machines....
and now, after synthax words, hmmmmm
yeee i dont like mobile phones, but i like laptops
but you are verry right about chipset for audiocard, and a lot of other things i cant do with a laptop, so i would waste really my money with a laptop,
so i really would like to have one, but for serious production, i have to buy a desktop pc!!!!!!!!!!!!
