why can't the artists & labels also release their new stuff in mp3.. maybe something like 96kbps? the entire albums/compilations.. and then put them on some ftp..
that way we the audience could preview the material properly.. 96kbps isn't really that great quality but you can definetly hear what's going on..
i for one don't ever buy albums with out proper preview.. unless it's from twisted ofcourse..
anyhow..
if this was to be a standard.. well i wouldn't have to look for the "gem" or "whatever" mp3 group "releases" that come in higher bitrate..
when you have those on your hd the temptation to just burn them on cd-r is quite big.. especially if you "kinda" like the album..
..then again.. that's just me..

A lot of labels and online shops offer more than short snippets of a track.
Stop crying about no samples - there are quite a lot of samples, if you look for them.
No one is going to send you samples on their own

you can make almost any track sound nice with a short sample..
it's when you buy it that you realize that the track sounds like the sample that is repeated over and over again..
anyhow..
just my 5 cents...

Hi all,
We r facing a BIG change in the format of muzik distribution all around now, and any eletronyk genre will sense it deeply...
All this bitching about mp3 will take us nowhere, the tecnology will never be good or evil per si.
I bought 9 cd´s from psyshop and they hvn´t arrived, 15 business days hv passed and they hv not arrived... I spent 120 euros on cd´s (that nobody buys anymore) and they hvn´t being delivered...
This makes me remember why I hvn´t bought anything since february... AND MAKES ME WONDER IF I´M GONNA BUY MORE...
I do believe psyshop is a responsable enterprise and it will eventually arrive or the order (and payment) will be canceled. But I hv contracted a service that has not being done (15 euros only for shipping).
Labels and artists complain about not receiving for their rights and that´s understandable, but new formats must appear... I really do believe the artists should hv a fresher paradigm about their rights, releasing stuff in 48 or 96kbps would make competent artists instantly known and they probably would sell much more then they r selling nowadays. More pp would hv and know their songs, more pp would be reached by the psytrance genre. AND MORE CD´S WOULD BE SOLD. But pp say, if u hv it, I want payment... and we all know it doesn´t happen that way...
Free ur mind... |

| , would happen with low quality music. 96kbps cut off many frequencies and the only thing I would be able to tell with it is the style of the music, which would not convince me of buying it.
Drope, just wait that it will arrive and keep up the good action.
Anyways, I feel quite bored after returning and seeing the same antiques up for discussion.
Respect and take care everyone!
  cna't find it |

Oh come on...
96 kbps cuts only the highs, so the hi-hats wouldn't sound so clear and the entire sound is less sharp. But you can still listen to the track, and when it's properly encoded it can sound quite well.
