Why won't cubase bounce properly?

So I'm trying to bounce some parts from some random project I was working on to use in another track, specifically the kick track. I select a bar's worth of it like so:

Go to audio -> Mix down, then paste the mixdowned wav file into the project I want to use it in like so:

But when I zoom in to the end of the bar I see this:

What the hell? Both tracks are the same BPM, so both should have the same length bar. Why does the bar-long audio file I mixed down from one track not fit into a single bar of another project with the EXACT SAME BPM. It's really annoying and means i can't bounce anything because it doesn't sound in time.

You might not have snap on when you selected the bar's beginning and end locators.

Zoom in all the way and check the midi part is exactly a bar (at both ends) then select the part and press 'P' to get the locators around it.

Re-bounce. Should fit. If it doesn't.. you're not doing one of these things right or the BPM is different.

Theres nothing else to check.

That's odd.

Did PreRoll get turned on? Is there a bar offset in the project prefs?

Any particular reason you've got the sampling rate cranked up to 96000?           http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

Heh... that generic driver sucks so much it I'd blame this and any other random unexplained problems on it...

Well it may be responsible for a wealth of other problems that I'm currently blissfully unaware of.. but this particular one it seems is a problem inherent in cubase itself:

Which is a fairly major flaw to need to take 2 versions to update properly.

Wait, you mean you've been using 2.0 this whole time?

Yeah... don't do that.

Aside from the issues you've been seeing, in 2.0 supposedly the Generic Remote mapping doesn't work at all. Upgrading to 4 isn't really necessary unless you want all the new synths, but you really should be using 3.1 at the very least. 2.2... works... but you won't be able to collaborate with anyone using SX3, which is what most people are using.
