Psytrance just isnt popular enough in NYC yet. The people that go to parties dont drink enough so bars/clubs dont make as much money as they would with other genres and promoters dont make enough to bring enough live acts to inspire and keep everyone happy and on top of that the NYPD sucks b***s. |

Personally, I'm happier with the "smaller" parties in NYC in any case. Any large event I've attended here has been replete with bullsh*t, too crowded to dance, full of morons groping girls and looking for fights. |

i think if anything trance is less popular now in NYC than it was say 6 or 7 years ago, at least in terms of party attendance. i mean synthetic sadhus and tsunami used to draw 800-1000 people every month. now parties are lucky to get half that, and it's been that way for quite some time. |

Im just trying to answer the guys question, everyone seems so defensive here. Big parties dont have to be bad.... If the scene became more popular and people started making some decent money the parties would get better ie. better sound, deco, pay for artists and djs etc. |

Isn't it the general trend in the whole electronic music movement? People grow up and move on. The minority keeps with the flow. Majority gets married, focuses on jobs, kids, family, gets tired etc. Young crowd is exposed to hip hop/mainstream crap only cause of no raves (no matter what you guys say I think it was a main source of new music for all those kids back in the days) and +21 venues all over the country.
