Hi again. Sorry about all the questions today but you have to understand, I'm living in Korea at the moment and I'm away from my studio (small as is may be - my pc/Hoontech DSP24V/ and Tannoy Monitors) but I get through my days dreaming about the synth and soundcard I'm going to buy when I get back.
OK, so! I've been looking into soundcards and I read on an earlier post that you guys recommend the RME hammerfall.
Could you tell me, in your opinion, why you believe this to be the way to go for a professional soundcard.
I know I am still only my beginning my music career and buying expensive equipment isn't going to make me a good musician but when I buy a soundcard I want to get a good quality one that will last me a loooong time and be accomodate my needs as my skills grow (i.e. plugging in a mic or guitar to record with my extreme psychedelic tweakage),.
HELP ME. Why the hammerfall?

...i use the small hammerfall ( 9632 ) and i m also very happy with it.
like monno said very good latency vs. cpu, and the quality is really good.
a important thing for sc's are the drivers, and in this case rme does it s job very well !

I have a RME Multiface and I agree 100% with medirium.
Since I' ve bought a laptop, Pentium IV 2Ghz, I allways use 1.5 ms Buffer Size (latency). Your ears won't notice the delay. I love this card.
You just won't believe this until you try it...

Well, there's the fact that it has very high quality inputs/outputs, ultra-stable drivers, amazing latency/cpu usage ratio, and you don't need to buy things like an external mixer with this one (unlike a lot of cheaper cards) or anything like that. It doesn't do anything really unique that I know of - it just does everything that a soundcard (not DSP card) should do very, VERY well. Anyone that uses it just can't use anything else once they get used to it.

Some of artists makin a hell of the music with impulse tracker while some artists with good equipment can't produce anything with their viruses , nord leads and waldorfs !!!
but the ones that create music on IT never will reach to good label or pro musicians ears !!!
that 4 sure !!!!
and of cause equipment is a small part of the story , first u need talent to produce music then other stuff !!!

he guys...i have to interfere ( not about the subject )...calm down...
i think there are a lot of misunderstandings...not each person can write english top notch (...me inclusive...) so there may be some grammatical errors which lead to "tensions"...
some ppl work more with stuff like "!" and "..." and whatever...so be patient...
and some ppl make progress / change theyr meaning....it s all about experiences...
ABOUT THE SITE:
it s a collaboration between superglue and me (...and still searching for some scouts ) and it s my fault that it isn t already online...trance is a BIG part in my life but not all...had very much to work ( @ work/lab ) the last time, cause of that the delay...
it will be open soOon...
and i can tell u already now that it will have a lot of changes in the first 2/3 months...
...u see...lot of misunderstanding...and sometimes it s better to be quiet if u don t know "how the rabbit is running"
plz guys...take care of each other.../respect...
