If the dark music was categorized as a different genre there wouldn't be a problem right? Or are the lines kind of blurry and this would be hard to do? Like if it was called death trance, or black trance. I mean that is the focus right? Why so many people insist on unity when maybe its easier that we differentiate both styles if the focus and ideas behind them after all are different enough. Hey nobody is complaining about house music or electro in our psychedelic scene, because there is a place for that right? it has its own scene. Because what is the point of wanting everybody to like it all? The problem is its all supposed to be psychedelic trance, but is the focus of all the satanic stuff really the psychedelic aspect or the dark aspect? if the focus is the dark part then label it as black trance and be done with it. No more arguing, you like that shit then you go to your death trance parties and nobody has to fight about who is right.
I think if the focus is the psychedelic aspect and it uses the dark stuff as a tool then it fits the psy trance. But when the dark is the main focus, then its like death metal or black metal but with a trance formula. So put it where it belongs and people can know what they are getting into.
I wonder if you can say the same thing about cheesy full on, I mean is the focus psychedelic there? I guess sometimes the lines are blurry and thats is the problem. And if that is the case, I guess we can not control things and we might as well accept that fact and respect the different view points.
BTW, I think some of those satanic symbols are offensive because they are supposed to mean something bad. Like the swastika example. When you see stuff like that you don't know if the artists are serious, somehow serious, or just playing with the symbolism with good intentions underneath.
If they are using the supposedly bad symbols with bad intentions I don't think anybody wants that shit. So at least lets get that clear. In my opinion this scene is about love in the end. However good symbols are also used all the times to committ really bad shit, so sometimes maybe you want to look beyond the symbols as they can be used to manipulate.
Psy trance had in its root a very positive soul that was reaching towards the love and the light. If these are still the intentions, I think the symbolism are not so important. However it is good to be aware that they can confuse people.

I'm not a fan of the satanic vibe style of darkpsy style music...I think it's cheesy.
The same goes for all the horror movies that the samples come from..What is the intention behind horror trance? Shock Factor?? MAYBE...attention?? DEFINITELY.

^^thx bro, yes maybe-just wondering y so many artist n djs r playin this kind of music,thgt this culture was supp to b wid happy n helpful ppl so they wld make it for a good intention(reffering to only horror,wicked,twisted,chaotic music); m kinda new n slow.i think pavel also trying to say the samething.is it??

I think is nothing serious, there is not burning of churches or some rituals...
Most of the satanic people in the scene are teenagers that are having problems with living in todays world.
As for the music, yeah there are a lot of dark moments, but this is just a little moment, nothing compared with the behaviour from the black metal scene or emo scene or whatever is modern today.
Anyway musicians are using darkness as an inspiration for music and other form of art for a long time, and personaly i think there is good music coming out sometimes from that inspiration, but the artist that is making this kind of music must have the control over it and to know how to use this inspiration.
Otherwise we end up with bunch of emo trance music spamming on the internet
