I think that there should be more remixes, if we compare to other electronic music styles i think that our belowed genre got very few.

What do you think? maybe someone has an idea about why its like this?

I dont per say agree, I dont think we need remixes at all - What we need is very simple, good music, and plenty of it.

And if at all possible, a little bit of development of the sound, even though I know this is not easy since psytrance has become such a defined genre.

Definately, I would not like to see every single release be
A.: Track
AA.: Remix of Track

I think remixes are the most fun when they are done of old tracks, and several years after the original release.

But, keep it simple, all we need is good music for our purposes (trance, dance and tripping) - What it is beyond that, doesnt matter at all (including whether it be an original track or a remix).

Happy hunting

yes this was what i meant mostly

not like when artists take a shit metal track and just put a kick and bass under, thats not even rmxing... its

And of course we need good music, but its also nice to listen to diffrent versions of good music... and sometimes rmx's are even better then original versions.

Yes of course, this also fits what Im saying, that more good music is, well, GOOD

However, I dont see remixes being particularily attractive.....
Sure, if your looking for massive audience response, people whistling, putting their hands in the air and such they are great - since theres something the audience recognizes so they can react to it easier.
What Im saying is, that for me that often seems like the point of remixes... and its quite cheesy compared to just producing new, fresh and inspiring music.

Again, remixes can be great as well - and surely originals can be far less original than you would think, just look at all them "blue pill, red pill" samples used for instance
I will even go so far as saying that most trance sounds like a remix of early trance tracks hehe.

I think there are plenty remixes already though - Lots of bad ones also.

If you do a remix of a well known track from a big artist, maybe you get your name associated with that artist so you can become big and wellknown yourself faster than you would normally...
Thats wrong, success should come from being talented, not from being a copy cat...

Sooooooo, actually I see remixes sometimes as being problematic Which you also seem to agree with when you say

Lets just hope the music flows naturally, so that the emphasis is put on quality and development, and not on anything else Thats what I hope for anyway.

There are like a billion gazillion quadrillion remixes out there..

Anyways I don't mind a remix or two @ compilations but it's mostly full on artists remixing full on and the tracks sound 99% alike and it's pretty f*cking boring in my opinion. Certain p*ys*x remix album for example that was released not too long ago.

However it can also be done properly, like Shpongle remixed for example. Many different styles, that's how it should imo be. Or well I rather enjoy sub6 7th son remix album too althou it's mostly progressive and full on heads would most likely see it like I see the psysex one..

The question should not be "why so few remixes" but : "why so few good remixes" haha           .

Yeah true. The mixes usualy never surpass the original track. Come across very feew tracks where the remix is much better.

Your right, lets change the question, so why is there so few good remixes?
And something i have also been thinking of is why does not dark artists and fullon artists remix each other?

I think the original post is infering to remixes of popular songs and classics maybe? For instance, I remember hearing a progressive house remix of THE IMMIGRANT SONG by Zeppelin!

It think that it would be really fun to hear original works of old artists remixed in psy fashion. But remixing and editing is usually done when an artist has a inspirational block...which is not the case with psy producers.
