are talkin to me?
no, what I said is that scene was too small.
one thing is being able to tour worldwide and being able to come back to the smaller parties, whenever the artists feels the need.. or gets the chance to.
and the other is to be confined to the small local parties because the artists are too small
and I wish I could go to goa and travel more!!!
people can always change their sound to fit the money making side of the scene. moar triplets. and dub delay.

It was not aimed at you, it is aimed at people who choose to write off a whole genre because a sub genre of it, is popular and attracts the "wrong" (for lack of a better word) crowd. Psy-trance is not shit, I don't like triplets nor do I like dub delays. Between the people who are confined to a small local scene and the big names that travel around the world, there are all them in between, people who do get to travel a bit and must choose carefuly where to go. Goa is the source and although there are some commercial events, there are a lot of brilliant parties, in some jungle, without triplets andd dub delays, with a crowd of no more than 400 people, who travelled far to get to that certain place, with very good reason. I can tell you that not one of them, at that place in time, thinks psy-trance is shit. Just because there a more commercial side of the genre that is growing, it does not mean its underground side, has died/ is shit, etc...

when you know how good it can be it s hard to enjoy if the scene is shit in your place..
with time i m way more selective and dont really care if i don t go in trance party for 6 months .. |

commercial became the representation of the scene. but only for some.
there's plenty of people making and playing good music, or at least, music that I like the most. and relate more. usually are people that are connected to their roots. they don't worry to change because their are not commercial.
many of the commercial sound is not beautiful in my opinion. |

yes small parties are great and best but they are often organized over a quite short time and if announced somewhere than also very short before as well.
I'd like to spend some good time for atleast a few days surrounded by cool decor and flying drenched in acid goa trans or real psytrance sounds. Post some links for europe if someone has. No cash for india so far ^^maybe in a few months.Would be a dream come true for me but that's good 2 know that it is still a special trip worth.

And in many ways, the whole thing is slowly going back to its roots. More artists make more music with Goa touches, some hard night stuff is proper twisted yet driving. Nigel from Shiva Valley played some blinding sets in Goa this season...I did not know even one track from what he played, but there was no cheese and it was proper twisted and psychedelic...which for me was a cathartic experience...it made me feel like I stumbled upon my first party, like I felt 19 years ago...I did not know the tunes that where getting played, but damn they had me stomping and loosing my self, only to find my self again later (yes there were some great things to consume at the party ).
So yeah there is a massive commercial side of this music nowdays, but if you stop focusing on that side, and start focusing on the underground side, you will find that there is a new spark and it re-ignited the flame inside of me.
Hence why I still love this music and the few good parties of it.
So someone famous made a bad joke that is not related to the genre as a whole...who fucking cares? They don't even make the kind of music I like to hear, so what they have to say about it is of no consequence to me.

LOL the Youtube clip pretty much covers the cliches that do little to really drive the crowd, and therefore are best left out of a track if you ask me. Doesn't mean that all psytrance has become poor though. On the contrary. |
