Psy trance is history repeating itself. there's a great resemblance between psy and indian classical music. the constant bassline is similar to the shruthi, which is to provoke the vibrations of the universe in man. even in indian classical, there are different raags for different times of day. morning raag, evening raags, midnight raag etc.. just like night time, twilight and morning. besides, just like psy trance, the raags are constant in scale. unlike in contemporary western music, where there are progressions to scales and scale changes. In fact, the basslines in psy trance are of a very meditative nature. All about the vibrations. Just like in the divine syllable "Om".
