Should i pray to Lord to uncover the truth? Or we simply have no talent to create new quality?

You can always try to listen to the Finnish style. They have a lot of randomization going on.
You might also say that it's boring to use the same bass drum through all the track. Why not change it every 8 bars?

:/

so deep answer. You are right. In POP music i would like to hear vocal change in every 16 bars. One track 36 different vocals. Awesome!!!

Dont you see difference between percussion and instrument?

BBQ is great - surely a must on the 4th of July

About the bass lines: I think there is only so much you can vary them before your music stops being trance (both in style and in listeners' state of mind). Like Pavel said, Suomisaundi has quite inventive bass lines. But some of it ventures out of the trance territory as a result (just IMHO - I know that most people don't agree with me on this).

I think, trance is supposed to be repetitive and hypnotizing, with subtle variations and not too obvious structure.
You start getting creative with rhythms and bass lines - you get some Suomi tracks that sound more like jazz than trance. You try to make it "interesting" with galopping bass and poppy arpegios - you end up with cheezy full on. You obsess about the structure - you end up with still-born mechanized progressive. You take that structure to the extreme - and you get Tiesto with arms in the air for a 3-minute long break up in the middle of the track.

But all of it can be done in moderation, so there is plenty of good Suomi, full on, progressive or Euro stuff that still sounds like trance and can induce this state in listeners.

P.S. What kind of bass line variation would you like to see?

as a Texan, I'm for it.

seriously though, there's tracks with different basslines for sure...ocelot's "with me" comes to mind. But I do think that with trance bass, the line between percussion and instrument is indeed blurred.

sure, i suggest KBBB.

I love KBBB but i want this BBB as different notes. Is it possible or it is shame to play with notes and if you do so you are banned and do not belong to holy trance family of the world?
