really interesting but also very strange: seems to be a bit similar to vitamins. if u get them chemical wise isn t as healthy as when they are taken in the natural way ( directly from the plants ).

...thnx mike !

The only way it can sound "way different" is when used a really bad encoder with bad settings.
Maybe you missed the whole point of mp3 - it gets rid of frequencies you don't hear anyway.

The only difference I ever hear is the difference between 160 and 128, 128 and 96, 96 and 54, Dig? Talking about bitrate.I have vinyl and CDs that sound worse than some mp3s(different trax,of course). As far as hearing loss.... Sound is sound. In my case Im just as liable to recieve hearing loss from the construction equipment I work around every day, vs my system when Im producing or mixing. Its a known fact , MUSICIANS LIKE IT LOUD, you see. So hearing loss comes in many ways for us. Especially party goers as well, Stand next to the speakers for an hour and tell me how long it takes for the ring to go away. IMHO this article may be something of a semi true semi we hate mp3 format gimic.

And also, If any hearing loss were to have taken place, I would have noticed by now. Ive been an avid fan of mp3s for about five years or so.

Sorry guys, but that is nonsense. Their arguments are like: "mp3 is bad for you coz it's not good enough quality"... So if that's so, vinyls, cassettes etc. should also be bad for you.

That article is writed good and can convince people who are not very familiar how the ear works, but it's still a load of crap.

Well, I kind of agree with it. I don´t have a clue why, but how I think it happens...

I can´t agree with some ppl that say mp3 is like wav file, that u can´t fell the difference, bla bla bla. I can hear the difference. For sure some mp3 are on very high quality, but will never beat wav quality.

this page is a bunch ov bolloks- most ofthe information regarding encoding and the human auditory system is correct, but the dude is a raving lunatik after that. No WAY subliminals are intoduced into music via MP3...
