Because we weren´t cautious enough in the past and let too many non-psychedelic mentalities come into the scene without initiation.
Now Psytrance is just one more electronic partyscene 
But open your eyes and you´ll still find authentic psychedelic culture  , but now it´s the underground of the underground of the underground (maybe of even higher order). 
Today psytrance (first order) is pop.

its not a money problem.
ive seen plenty of shite music and parties with zero money involved.

and i would add the hippie earth concious psychedelic part was not seen as essential which is why powders, alcohol, and influences from the system (aka the man) are involved today.
moving into the bars was the first and worst mistake.
get out of the bars.
encourage respect for healthy living (our bodies minds and souls) and the earth our mother.
the use of psychedelics is only part of a larger picture of elevating consciousness.
bring awareness to all that we do.
lets raise this vibration

I personally think its up to the individual.
See thread "anatomy of the drunk guy syndrome".
I feel that by blaming the substance, the real issues are ignored and perpetuate. Maybe we need to educate, rather than eliminate it altogether. By eliminating it we just take the path that so many governments have, the 'you people are too stupid to have self control' path.
And, Im pretty sure an alcohol free party would have drastically different attendance... If you want to have a dry party, thats your trip!
Personally I dont believe in making rules like that. I dont think we need to adhere to any code, or anything like that. We should all be free to do as we please, so long as its not hurting any others. If we want to make unhealthy choices, thats our choice. Do you want to be the Psy-Big Brother, watching all the drinkers and snorters? I really feel that that is part of the reason that we have problems in the trance community these days.
Its not important what vehicle you ride, just that the destination be a good one! . |

I don't blame the substance for anything. I just view alcohol as a dirty substance. I don't see why anyone would drink it. It makes you feel groggy, it makes you act stupid, the only positive thing I've known it to have is its a social lubricant. That itself is even bad because now everyone relies on alcohol for all their social activity, or maybe they always have. |

all drugs have different effects for everyone. Just because some people get stupid and rowdy shouldnt be a reason to ruin it for those of us who dont.
relying on a drug for anything at all, be it social lubrication or enlightenment, is just as bad.
Our own experiences and prejudices shouldnt be expected of others.

what makes me smile is so many people I remember insulting house music and now producing themselves some house...how many psyche trance artists nowadays poduce house music ???
of course it opens new doors, brings money and shows a kind of open minded spirit that you have in your taste...waow !!!! being an artist means always crossing new fontiers which means not staying in a specific style but being prolific in lots of different genres...I suppose...I'm not artist  |
