now about the subject of this post again- fuck this demographic shit
why is psy not popular in usa?
because its an underground fanatical cult that is only spread by word of mouth in usa.
this is due to the extreme errrr differences between the mainstream (SHIT) culture and trancers (utopian)
in europe its not like "big" in any mainstream sense either...
its just that some proper organizers get off their fucking ass and make some serious events.
actually i blame it all on the puritans, the conquistadores, etc... oh hell it was the mongols fault. if they didnt get that silk road going then europeans wouldn't have had a taste for pepper and silk and then wouldn't have had to sail around and shit trying to find access to the good stuff when the venetian traders couldn't get it overland anymore from the middle east... |

its the land of television, automobiles, massive quantities of industrial food, (well in all fairness i am in minnesota and wisconsin...) cant wait to go back to portugal!
but at least we finally have a president i can get behind a bit...
maybe psy will go back to san francisco and save the world in time for 2012...
worst yet i heard the russian crews there are all into booty breaks now also.. hilarious. like its either Gil or Breaks?

psy is not big in america (or uk- sorry guys- its coming back from the stone age there but seriously behind)
because
its still stuck on rock and roll!
about hiphop-= well thats the most popular music in the world and not specifically in the usa but much of the original stuff comes from usa so yeah there are big scenes in urban areas of usa primarily started by "gasp" black people and all the kids of every color who wanted to join in on the fun...
but primarily this country- (and uk- sorry guys!)
is stuck on rock-n-roll
hence
breakbeat

We'll work on rekindling your love of psy in the us tomorrow night
You'll also learn about the difficulties that we pretty much always encounter which makes having parties so hard.

Omar Santana is awesome. You seem like a pretty interesting fellow, but I must admit I enjoy watching tv a good deal. We missed out this time, but next time you are in the states, we need to get you to Austin.
As far as Obama goes, shouldn't he be shivering in terror. I'm confused. Seems to me like he just won the shittiest lottery prize ever. |

When I left it was still flying, what happened to the mistress of evil girls? |

- Maybe, its because America has no cultural values..
- Maybe its the 2,000 total active supporters in the Nation that show up on a weekend vs. whatever the Global standard is for "big"..
- 80% of the core supporters from the 60's Psychedelic movement bloodlines got stuck in the Corporate music wash of acceptance by the people. Which has only been conditioned through Rockin Roll.. Its really became a "racial frequency" in mind contol..
- Majority of the USa Collective sound Viewers do not listen to psytrance as their first source of dance music..
- Its not accepted by its "The American Dream" slogan as a form of Life and music.
- Maybe the USA just hasn't made it signature sound yet that deserves the increase in supporters to become accepted or become big. |

if the supporters of Psy in the USA can get together and span the mad geography (big) between the scenes... perhaps that can catalyze things...
i hear Aum festival is nice. Gaian Mind- well people have actually heard of that in other countries- its actually famous!
and some Greek heads were telling me they were going to Symbiosis but i think they were more into Electro and Minimal and thought Breaks and Chill were ok and weren't looking for Psy so much...
SF- i dont know... the MOE were never really making parties- just they helped with the same parties everyone helped with- it was collectivist... and when certain core people stopped doing anything about it, the scene seems to have collapsed a bit...
to be fair i think Dylan and Leo and the next generation of heads are getting some things going.
Synchronize is still happening i hear. its not all lost.
but there seems to be no critical mass for Psy parties and its not percieved as trendy but rather as "old and out of style"
funny eh?
this is the problem with 10+ years of underground non-growth and the lack of fresh blood and the total acceptance of the underground ideals.
the reality it this- if you want to really pump/pimp somethng it is a full time occupation. without welfare or the ability to make money at something this is difficult.
in america people are too busy to devote time to properly promoting an event. esp. with an underground ethos.
in europe- it was understood early on, make money or get out of the game. there is also a bit more in certain countries in terms of social welfare- where someone can be poor and still have a place to live and food... in san francisco its a constant monthly hustle for rent money.
i think the prices for rent in SF did not even go down during this financial crisis but you better check with a local...
i just dont know anymore./
i left to pursue a music career and to try to take my psy full time- something that would never happen in usa but is reality for me now elsewhere... |

well if you get 2000 people thats pretty good anywhere... if its an underground campout party with psytrance thats even better.
i think its more like trying to get 200 in most parts of the usa...
in europe people also have a bar at most parties (even open air) and really get the revenue from a wide range of options...
also the flights for artists dont cost as much...
also they plan ahead with their party dates and integrate with other groups so as not to conflict...
last minute helps no one... |
