is it the promoting? or do the general people not have good taste or something. Ive always wondered why psytrance is so much bigger outside the u.s. I mean dont get me wrong theres a decent scene in new york or california areas but here in atl its scarce as much as the rest of the u.s. yes theres some festivals world bride, touch samadhi, orb festival, gaian mind, and events w/ psytribe but was wondering if anyone else has light as to why psytrance is VERY underground/ not big in the us.peace

Electronic music in general isn't big here. Just think about the psy scene compared to main stream electronica in other countries (esp europe).           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

The most important question is, why Football isnt big in U.S.

I think it's all about hype and also americans probably don't like things that it's not their invention!           www.myspace.com/aliasix

off topic.

^^{ I think in the future all mayor european teams (and some sudamericans) will have franchises over US, as Barcelona USA in Miami, Chivas USA is LA, the Manchester United NY, Real Madrid Chicago, Boca San francisco and so on until all stars play on US and it becomes like a permamnent World Champions league.

On topic:

I thing maybe laws are to restrictive as too have parties like in Brazil or Mexico. Or maybe just US is tired of hippie stuff.

Football hasnt taken off in the US because in America everything is about size! How big your bank account is, how big your house your car etc =)! If you look at most american sports the majority of players are really big black guys! Spain won the Euro Cup this yeas did you see the amount of short players in that team I mean they were called magic midgets by an american broadcaster, Lionel Messi has big chance of winning player of the years. In the US you never have player of this size in any sport let alone being consider best of the best.(OFF Topic)

In a way you can also make the same comparison to psy trance!
Its a tiny small community compare to a huge money making machine like britney spears or madonna!

Tough laws...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,58663,00.html

In the early 90s, raves, parties, underground dance events were huge.

NY, Phili, Boston, Chicogo, Los Angeles, Miami...

Major cities were booming with a dance/party culture.

A lot of people want to ignore the fact that many American Producers, were instrumental in the way dance music sounds today. The truth is: The truth has been forgotten.

There has been a major restriction on freedoms in the USA, in the last 15 years. Most of the country, is too blind and asleep to see and feel it.

Its very sad, cause American culture used to promote such innovation and individuality. The music from our country used to be great and unique, different and alive.

No we live in a weird and mandated conformity. You can throw parties in the USA, but you must be incredibly careful. Events like "Burning Man," are actually moving abroad. I know there is one in South Africa now.

Perhaps with the new President, organizations like the ACLU, and Center for Constitutional Rights, may have a voice again.

It would be fun to bring the music back here. If Psy Trance parties could be easily thrown, the music would catch on.

After all, there is hardly anything exciting in Rock n Roll right now. Have you heard the latest crap from G & R? Its been leaked on the net, and it is complete shit!          The speed past light..
