Why is there less bass in Darkpsy than Fullon and Progressive?

Since "taste" can not be seen, heard, touched nor tasted I was wondering how the hell you define good and bad taste (since you obviously do define it somehow)? If it's just YOUR opinion that it's ALSO just a matter of taste and your remark about "good and bad taste" is complete nonsense!

Dunno about the bass, there are tracks with deep and not so deep bass 
About all the other stuff here, good music bad music, good taste - no taste at all... blahblah
who cares, just like to do music
and more about the taste issue, i am 100% with shamantrixx.. and people should get it or just try to understand
maybe it is abreak in evolution or at least personal development and some people just cannot (yet) understand .. and this is not meant attacking
and u atma - more and more u seems just a bit strange to me. is it jealous, coz dark newcomers become more famous than you or wth - or is it a different problem?
you sound a little bit like a so called 'musicnazi' - don't want to attack u

I'm sorry Mr Atma but your remarks are the ones that started this whole debate. Firstly you start dissing a entire subgenre and the people who like to produce "darkpsy" calling them amateurs, then you are playing some kind of victim saying that dark producers are superiour.
As you so humbly mentioned, you have a lot of experience and long musical background <cough> and so god forbid anyone making something that you don't approve of and might more musically trained than you. Have you ever considered that people's taste go beyond the generic full-on you like to make? (I see on your myspace page that you sound like "nobody" <cough> <cough>).
You come off as awfully pretentious and insecure when speaking of the darkpsy movement, which is immature I will grant you that but has a lot of potential and great ideas.
Maybe no dark producer will revolutionize music (although personally I think Ghreg might considering he really sounds like nobody else), but let me remind you that early punk music had shit production yet have you ever heard of the punk revolution which spawned new wave, gothic and industrial music? Who's to say that darkpsy will not someday morph into some high production glitchcore or whatnot?

Funny thing is that the ones who really know their stuff usually don't feel the need to talk about how much they know...it's in my experience usually a sign of someone who just transcended from the realm of total newbness into having somewhat of a clue.

No man i am not jealous !
My music project is working just fine and maybe if you didn't noticed i have some other projects beside psytrance.
It's not my dream to become some psy superstar, that's why i didn't released 50 albums since 1996 since now. I make music because I love music and that's why i dedicated my entire life to music creation. Dunno about the others, but music is what I do every day from my psy projects to commercial music production in my studio and also as music teacher on musical high school (I teach basics of music composition, piano & also canto on a music high school)
So, no man, I am not jealous, I am just pissed of to see some evereyday all the kids
come here and try to teach us lessons about what real music it is or how should it sound.
I am too old in the business and tired to take this shit.
Everybody is free to listen & like whatever he likes but please don't try to come with stupid arguments or comparations !

I don't have anything personally with anybody and with any kind of music, specially with the dark. Like i said before, I like many dark tunes starting with the fist Xenomorph albums (which i personally both them) and ending up with Penta. But i think something has lost on the way ! Too many amateurs think they sound like Xenomorph, Greg On Earth or other great artists....but they are wrong !
That's my only problem !

I was really talkin about bad taste taste even though I mentioned good taste.

I can't associate myself to most dark psy. I don't understand it. It gives me a headache most of the time. Its a cacophony no more to me. I don't find it very musical. therefore I consider it of bad taste.
Its my opinion not a general truth. That is why I did not understand why you brought up the definition thing. When you say that someone has a good taste, you kind of associate yourself to that person and viceversa. In this case I just don't feel part of the same "dark group" I dont even consider it being psytrance in the first place.

What makes you think that you should judge about who is entitled to express his "stupid arguments or comparisons"? As I've been told forums have a specific purpose... to serve us as a way of exchanging our viewpoints, ideas, opinions, arguments and comparisons. Both smart ones as well as stupid ones. In fact... without stupid things we could not differentiate the smart things because they would all be a kind of equal.
So in a way we should really thank you for being such a nice contrast in this topic. Without you I would not be able to have this point of view

In my first topics I talked in general about dark producers, i didn't said X or y, so no one should take it personally.
In my opinion you are a good producer, i've listened some time ago samples you posted for some remixes or something, and i liked what i heard... but again, I was talking in general not about exceptions, i was talking about the rest of 90% of the bad tunes which fills most of the compilations today.
But i am too tired to keep this endless discution, and it's useless anyway...so i better get off to bad !

thanks im glad you liked,
i just think using aggresive and offensive ways to say things on a forum doesn't do any good to anyone.
i do it too sometimes, everyone can get emotional, and whenever it happens i feel a bit silly after.
personally, even though i like mysterious night music a lot, i too am not that into the 160+ type stuff of today, but i definatley can't diss the entire genre.
