Me and lots of good open mind ppls have wrote you here and explain ..

Thers no pumping kik or powerfull sub or good bass at the higher speeds , Youll never find . This is a matter of time till you understand that , Keep working 200 .. One day it will hapen .. Then you will get the point .

I hope that now .. When you are working with us on a new project (140) you can see , Hear and understand that better get wild on low bpm .. You have an real good example , Its only to work right to creat this illusion , thats all ..

What I find interesting is the fact that everything is relative. I've mixed all my 145 tracks at 155, and after about an hour, this seems to be the normal tempo. Likewise with lower bpm, but if you slow down, you begin to lose quality.

I've found that when I dj, I can keep a dancefloor for longer at 145 than any other tempo! Helpful that so many tracks are made at this tempo           http://www.soundcloud.com/architektnz

cmon man. Are you seriously saying that 145 is too fast?

145 has been the standard trance tempo for a long time, for a reason. I'm definitely with you on the really-fast-is-usually-not-so-great attitude both technically and feeling-ly (eh?) but saying that 145 is too fast is just...silly.

Who cares about the dance floor? Pretty much everyone making trance music.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Willsanquil .. Show me 1 place in all over this site i have said 145 is fast .
I think 145 is cool , My 'Moto scale beat' Go's to 136 - 148 Bpm when imo
142 is the best ,

Sure .. Can agree 145 is the most popular speed (At the fullon style) .

Freeflow .. Yes , First i care about the sound (Didt say i dont care about the dancefloor) ..
Just said - Who care about dancefloor NOW when we talking of the sound .
I never worry about whats going on the dancefloor i trust myself that all will be great at
the time i play it out , I wish i could sit and craet commercial music first for the dancefloor but then
i will just lie to myself , The music is first for me .

Happy new year ! .

this is a insane 240 bpm track that actually works......

it has body and developtment.... and its hard to accomplish that 200bpm+

at least for me

In what way does it work? I don't think there is anything that is good about this tune, but I am interested to hear why you think this works and in what way? Once we get past the fact that there is no bottom end drive.

compare to this --'

dont u think it has more..... stuff? xD
more body, developtment and ideias..
and its killah!!

rawars seems a bit cheesy to me.

btw, what is bottom end drive?

why not compare any ultrafast darkpsy to this:

for me artha's track has a lot more body, develpement, ideas and "stuff" than the other examples.

and on top of that the bass pushes you a lot more. at >180bpm the kick has no time to "resonate" within your body and your mind (especially with kbbb).

I guess everything has its place, i don´t know who has a hard time understanding that the faster speed something travels the less time there is for long frequencies to travel most of their length,

So 180bpm psytrance will sound wimpy in kick and bass... i guess most of the time, Still DnB can sound much fuller this is because of another bass structure, with longer note lengths, and more focus on heavier snaredrums, and not kickdrum on every 4 beat,
Its big difference.

Its the simple truth that there is no time for the low freqs to travel more fully.

Lowend Drive is what it sounds like,

Drive = "to force to work or act"
bottomend = the lower parts of the frequency spectrum, ie 0-80hz

Was dancing quite a bit this weekend and I was noticing the effect of different speeds of psy on my body, and was having some interesting conversations with people who are at various points in their psy careers (as in, experienced psy vets dancing for 5-10 years, novices who just got into it a couple months ago, etc)

I noticed that when the tempo goes much above 145, the energy of the dance floor (if its populated) does indeed go up and people dance quicker, but it's a different kind of dancing...it feels more like the rush of energy you get from excercise and less like a trance state.

The faster/techier/'dark'er stuff in particular felt to me like an endurance test. Great excercise, and fun on acid...but the sets where it was sub-145 or right at 145 I was able to really get deep into a trance state and dive into myself, whereas with the faster stuff I kind of feel like I'm playing a dance video game trying to keep up.

Not saying this is universal, but that's definitely how it is for me and a good portion of the people I was talking to over the weekend. Yet another reason that I personally am not very interested in producing music much above the 145 mark.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

in psy, everything above 145bpm tends to be darkstyle
why no one makes fast happy psymusic?
