He doesn't do it for snobbish reasons. Just doesn't want to get stumped on his feet or hit in the nose.

We are all in awe as to how cool you are that you avoid people who are having fun moving their bodies!

Your hypothesis is pretty smartassed.I never said that people should not have fun dude, what I told was that I and nobody else is not satisfied with it - and this is my goddamn right to decide what I want.Seen?

Saying that ,I have real friends who are in this scene and produce it long, and I now that this music can be complex and even psychedelic (not that examples here, showtech for instance) but when it comes to dancing it seems very exhausting to me to jump in 160 bpm with this kind of structured moves and a big aggro often. The ladies are nice but without it they are still nice and for me even nicer.
And think about it befor writ such dumb comments..where the fuck have I written that I dont like when people hav efun?
I never was trying to be cool and I dont regret it.
What a dumb comment from you man..
I also dont like ballet ..so what? Am I now trying to be cool now?
End.

usually the ones who are having "lotssss of fun" have a wide circle of ground arround then without people

it's amazing how something or someone is still considered "too crazy" in the world of psychedelia

One thing is to have fun dancing to twistey sounds... other is to stomp the floor to ultrafast diabolic music with woman screaming and dog barking samples XD trrrr...

Had a live jam session with another producer and a neophyte on an APC40, midi keyboard and a Korg electribe on sunday.

Project was @ 150 BPM, all done in session view as an experiment to see if it felt significantly different than the 145 we usually work with. It wasn't. Bass felt full and deep...well, as full and deep as I can get it with my current skill level anyways. Still had groove and we made lots of crazy sounds and had a bunch of fun.

definetly.Tempo has nothing to do wheter it is good or bad.Electribe is great for such comparisons.Especialy on much higher tempos ,even the presets songs sounds fat.
One can philosophize endlessly about why slower is better, but in the end this is not of any importance and wont be objective.
What counts is the end result, the energy the fun when creating music like exploring a new universe and not sticking to old dumb rules.

The nonsensical discussions about the tempo of a track suck. The side is great, but the intercommunication is hard and often unfriendly. Why throwing so much stones in the way? Let everyone have an own way of thinking.
How boring it would be when all are same in creating, being creative would than not make any sense I guess.

It is ok to have an own ,maybe different opinion but there seems to be a big influence on so many that it should definetly be slow, that often people forget in their comments to behave human and maybe forget even the inner self.
Often the other way round too.

Personaly I see that on slower tempos you get a longer bass notes and can perceive more the technical qualities etc,but I like many things about 160 too.And this wont change as long as I like it.No comments would convince me to change my taste.
And why not focus on different elements than only kick and bass..it is nice but if all hunt for the same ahh however I jus wanted to say fuck such rules.
In old times there was not existing such problems, the bass was sounding different ,the kick too and the sound became legendary.

..refering to music itself not any dance styles

..etc it is very ,very very hard to find in hardstyle the same psyhcedelia as in psytrance.Indeed hardstyle guys do not give any fuck about anything wiht psychedelic to begin first. They want distorted kicks and a hard bass in sub areas combined with scales that are not often in minor or strange or psychedelic.
I still like psytrance, but I dont like any kind of techno and every other existing habbits. Each to his own.

.. Shiranui - you're right..i felt somehow offended.Lets all chill out.Peace

By "hardstyle" do you mean all hard dance styles like hardcore, gabber etc?

Because if so there is some very psychedelic dutch hardcore out there

I'm specifically thinking of the tracks "phased based" by enzyme x and "tryptophan" by waldhaus, neither of which are on youtube anymore, but if you can track them down, they're both very trippy imo

Here's another one, not as good but you see what I mean

It doesn't have the same echoey fractally-ness of psytrance but the harsh noisy soundscapes are very interesting

TimeTraveller you seem like more of a listener than a dancer am I right? (the fact that you don't like other types of dance music points to this)

I'm as much if not more of a dancer than a listener. Can't effing stand music that I've been exposed to that labels itself with the 'hard' moniker. I've seen people dancing to breakcore and hard house and hardcore...and it's not my thing.

Well, I am pretty much a listener only, which is exactly why I don't mind higher BPMs. You don't have to be a "power dancer" to appreciate good darkpsy. There is more to music than BPMs. At the same tempo, I’d probably like a proper darkpsy or a forest track, mildly dislike a psycore track and stop a gabber track after 3 seconds. Does it have anything to do with the way somebody dances to these styles? Not at all.
