Why, here in brazil, very few people know psytrance producers?
I mean, in a party lot's of people know the name of some DJs (like JP, rica, Ekanta, Swarup, Feio, Camilo Rocha, VOR, Patife...)
but they can't name any track from anyone (rarely they can name one from GMS...)
And if you ask a DJ what songs he was playing, most of time he won't answer... why?

For the last question: maybe because (s)he is a shitty DJ, simple as that. Mp3 is pretty much ruining the quality of music in the trance scene everywhere...

For the first question: many reasons:
1. people may be new to the scene. not everyone is bound to go looking for tracks upon first going to parties.
2. no distribution of psy music in Brazil. Though that is changing with Vagalume Rec. (stay tuned for more infos on this).
3. people are more interested in partying happily than in knowing what's being played.
4. man, seriously, you can't expect people to be trance-encyclopedias. I personally know a lot, and I mean a lot of stuff, and 95% of the time I can't recognize what's being played. Especially if who's on is a self-respecting DJ who knows his shit and plays varied music.           the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist....

Hi Luiz I agree with you , when you are at home listening to a CD you can recognize the song but sometimes when you are at the party is't hard to recognize the song and relate it with his producer immediatly , but there are a lot of people who knows the quality of the Projects and goes to the party just because of then , so I think that this people knows their songs...
Your Psy comments at Balada Planet used to be very good , I miss it...

Go to a party is a "sound experience".
Most of people go to a party to just to dance and enjoy the sound, the people and the positive vibration..
learn about tracks in parties is your personal way to enjoy the party...

who really wants to learn about psy have to search for it ... (in most of cases in the internet)..
