On another note since we've brought up hot Brazilians and Swedes. I think that proportional to the population we have fewer hot people, but of the those who are we have some of the finest in the world.
For the record Venezuela has the highest percent of beauty queens per population of any culture in the world.

I apologize if I offened anyone but I went the german style. German sometimes are misunderstood for being too frank but this is done for a reason and is to start dialog.

Basicaly people (not only in America) have to take control back. Transnationals are running the world and this isnt more obvious than in the US. I mean Obama is not gona change anything People have to be the catalyst of change and you have change the way you do things and the world will follow since the US tends to be a trend setter for a large portion of the world. If american drive Hummers many people all over the world want hummers. I dont think americans are willing to give up all their conveniences. Change is very very hard but change will happned either by you choice or by other forces this is what is happening with the price of oil.

I actually lived in the states for some time and like I said people are stereotype by everthing If you are Black or white, or if you dress certain way, if you are tall or short this is why I left. and like someone said the only reason I go back is when I make enough money and order stuff from amazon. Dont get me wrong there are some beautiful unique places in America like La playa(burning man), California etc. And there is no perfect place in the world

Leatherstrip you're right. We have to be the catalyst for change. In the end our whining and complaints are worthless if we're not willing to do anything about it. You think the Rave act would have stopped the hippies?! As Kesey taught you've got to change the rules of the game if you want to win the game. Otherwise we're playing their cops and robbers game.
Our generation is lazy (and it's lazy everywhere in the world). We're all waiting for someone to come along and lead or make the changes, but we've just got to get up and do it. I'm ready if you guys are up for change count me in.

BTW where in the states did you stay while you were here?

I say stop trying to figure out everything...your ego wants you to figure out how to explain experiences how to explain phenomenons how to put into words static emotions or feelings, and so on. Ask yourself does any of this matter? NO. Why hasnt psy taken off? who cares just go enjoy it ...or dont... its up to you. We dont need to analyze and figure out everything. Living is what is important knowing is a trap. Arguing your point as the truth is masturbating your mind. I would love to sit around and argue this all with you folks but dont we have some living to do somewhere else?

Chuck we have yet to meet, but I must give you props for your post....it is spot on. This discussion can go on all day long and eveyone can and will have an opinion on it. It really is far better suited to get out there and make things happen. Do what you love and just BE.           Brian - Uhm

I agree, that was a very eloquent post. Personally I'm very thankful for our community as it has in many ways been my salvation. Which is why I have been dedicated to living it for years, because I love it the way it is. Even if it changes drastically that love will always be there all because of the positive turns this scene, community, and the people who have and are building it have done for my life.

None of the problems I see people focusing on here are real obstacles for promoters. If we really want more people at parties, I would think the idea would be to:

a. Let people other than the psytrance community know about the party.

b. Make quality flyers and take them to electronic music events and pass them out to people that are having a good time. Hand to hand promotion is key.

c. Focus on making the party more of a circus type atmosphere with multiple things to focus on. Get local vendors involved for a vending area. Have local artists perform. Not just a sound system with black lights in a dark field.

d. Mix it up a bit. Have some openers play a different genre. There isn't a whole lot of psytrance that fits before midnight anyhow. Maybe have a multiple room party with a mixed genre area.

e. Focus and build locally. If you have no local base of attendees, you really have no solid support structure. People on Isratrance are a thousand miles from you, start advertising the party on the local rave messageboards and other local messageboards.

each state will play its role in helping to spread the music throughout the USA. in my opinion, when something gets too big in a state, the government shuts it down. what we are trying to do here in Iowa is to bring credibility to the music by incorporating the University of Iowa, science, non-profit charity work (canned good donations), art, and hopefully someday the medical community (if i get into medical school this year).

if we can continue to show the University of Iowa and the surrounding medical community that Psytrance events are as legitimate as any other large scale music event, except way more fun, meaningful, and intelligent (in my opinion), then I feel we can spread the music further since there is such a dense academic community here.

I have brought up Psytrance to several of my Ph.D professors here at the University of Iowa, including my Neurobiology professors to discuss the theoretical neurological-synchronizing properties that Psytrance seems to have, and many of them are not only intrigued, but a few have even expressed interest in coming to do a guest lecture / workshop at one of our future events!

Hopefully we can get the whole state into it, and help the Midwest to work together more to fill in the huge gaps that are found between the coasts. You coastal folks are lucky

thats our story here in Psyowa!           Abrahm

@Trancephonic_Kronik: and by the way, Minnesota went from having NO PSYTRANCE PARTIES to having THE BIGGEST PSYTRANCE PARTIES in the Midwest, due to a shift in intention, vision, and promotional efforts, primarily orchestrated by HardkoreNate and UncensoredUs in Minnesota.

they pull 2000+ people to their "rave-like" events, and after just recently beginning to use their resources to organize all-night Psytrance events, their Psy events are pulling 500 to 1000 people. Our Iowa parties have maxed out at 400, but we hope to break this at Spring Equinox or at another in-the-near-future gathering. In the meantime, Minnesota leads the Midwest, so props to them for KEEPING IT GOA'N!!!

I was just playin' of course, but there IS a thing called critical mass, and I wouldn't be surprised if MN isn't the tipping point. We've been working hard at conversion and it's paying off. Give it a few years and we'll have inspired some musical prodigies who are still in high school to create the next big sound and put the mid-west on the map again!
