- Once united can do miracles (Common people).

plus if we were not an agressive nation, we'd all be turkish by now.

Well, to be honest, greeks are not so much different than turkish....I mean from the aspect!
So, I suppose that you are all mixed together...! Half turkish....half greeks...
I hope nobody will be offended....but this is the reality...

Dot kite, you found the right topic for this one so i can not resist. I am offended and i will base my arguments for this stupid post of yours.
The reality may be this for sure. All balkan nations including turkey are mixed, no doubt about it. But this goes for all nations globally as well.
The point is that all other nations especially europian ones are following a similar route on develope and civilisation.
So now watch carefully all the balkan nations, including turkey, and try to compare their development to this small country of ours.
I meen beeing surrounded by barbarians....we are doing fine don't you think?

I really appologise, if you are offended...but you shouldn't...
Being Turkish or living in the Balkans area is not something of bad.....maybe your perception of this, is bad...if you know what I mean!
And yes, I do agree, that the whole world is mixed...and this is the beauty of this planet.
But posts like piko_bianko's are over the top!
Such kind of statements are quite dangerous....

P.S. I am sorry, but I really don't think that Greece is surrounded by barbarians! Most of the countries might be less developed than in northern europe...but this does not mean they have nothing to show or offer to the rest of the world! |

nop the balkan nations have to offer a lot for sure. Civil war atrocities, 50% of the internatinal drug production, uneducated population...
I agree that the beauty of the world is to be mixed...but on a right basis. At this point our nation (also a mixed one) tried and kept at a respective percentage, the Greek basis values (except religion wich i think is our bigest obstacle for even more open minded development). We don't live in paradise, but having visit most of our neighbour countries...well...i like it better here.

I have to say I totally agree with piko_bianko and Tim.
This mixed up of ours made us the ppl we are and I like us! Including the aggressive behaviour!

..but offtopic. i didn't see u explaining or like/dislike our 'agressiveness', on the contrary you just stated we're mixed with turkish.
yes, as Tim said, every nation is mixed with a random other... but Dot Kite if u knew something more about greeks (as u claim to), then u'd be sure that calling us even half turkish... ehm is kinda offencive.

Well, first fo all, I would like to say once again that I really don't want to offend any of you!
What I said before regarding the mixed "Greek-Turkish" is is a fact...and I think that we all agree on that! i can understand that you might not like to hear it...but this is just what it is!

regarding you statement concerned to the Balkans, well, unfrtunately what you said is very true...unfortunately till our days they have several kind of problems....but hey, do you want to know something? The Scandinavians or Australians...etc.. might have the same opinion for the Greek population as well....
So, I would suggest you to come down on earth again...

Well, I don't speak without having a personal experience of Greece and Greeks....I lived there for some time and I can assure you that the Greeks (as most of the meditteranean population) are acting under the Tribalism effect!
Please gentlemen (and ladies), do not take my post in an offensive way...at the end of the day, Greeks took a lot of nice things from the Turkish especially in the gourmet field (Kebab, Baklava, Kadaif...etc.).....and viceversa...
maybe this is what makes you so special! isn't it?
