take me for example! noone wants to here me playing, nooen turnt up to the headstick party a month ago or so? why? because i just dont make music, produce or master it better than anyone else... of course you all guyz who go around and play can do it better, have more experience etc.... it's a funny situayion! who cares anyway? get a job do all the same and feel happy! SWEEEEEEEEEEET

just had a look to your posts again. i feel like i am the example mentioned earlier... Look! it makes you feel bad, and for no apparent reason. It feels llike all your life is just sold away... one can say is just for business. but it's impossible to think like that... if you've been to a situation you have to compare all the situations to this. i have been to some very nice situations before, that I haven't seen since I returned to my "home" country greece, in a great extend is my fault. I grew up musically in england, making good friends with everyone that now is a respected dj. take humphrey from dragonfly/lsd for example or iboga's glen. I was with them like you are good friends in beetween you here in greece, maaking music together, hanging around for days. Then situations got fucked, with my girlfriend especially and had to come back togreece, leave making music for a while and start eveything again. It's a difficult thing to do, and you can never go against the system, even it the trance world.... Once somebody gets succesfull they become arrogant... it's the way the clock ticks! you take for example one of the most well known, and respected promoter in my opinion in the city, because of both who he is and what he has done. I wouldnt say that about 3-4 years ago, when we did our first gig in greece. After the guys from twilight zone contacted us and where about to make the deal he had to contact us and ask us to play for him because the twilight zone guys where completely unprofessional etc etc. The mail was in a vvery intense tone... Now it's normal that if we see his sucess in the city he must have changed his ways because there is no way he could manage bookings like the ones he's doing with an attitude like that! The same way that I feel must be for most of the well known "x"-djs and acts. Take the rhinos for example, they all dissapeared, stavros do u remember him? He was the most respected greek dj everywhere, he's dissapeared, lory, all of the "old school" greek trance names. Of course one would say how i can speak and refer to their names... If they could and do read this maybe I will get some really ungry responses back, even though they are very respectful and kind people to act as mentioned in the begining of this post. Anyway now it feels a bit better, but it is a really intensive post for me this and I had to write all this long message to analyse what I feel and etc.etc. Will things get better. well it's completely in my and each one of your hands, if you feel the same way... I just wonder why promoters don't get the "older" names to play and they just book new names and people who are marketable... that's the answer... maybe! the good thing is of course there is more good music and more good ideas which will die in a couple of years but they are what the present wants. and the mass does never care about the individual feelings of one person or to put it better their "wanna-be-ness"  and that's fairynough

I think the music that they play and not their behavior,ok it's bad to see 2 known dj's fighting but i'm sure that they were having some differences and they act like that.
I wasn't there maybe you know better.

Again why focus on that they are DJ's? Are DJ's that special? As I said earlier there's to much "star" a** licking these days. Why not just focus on the fact that they are ordinary people just like you and me and all of us. |
