WHY DONT WE ADD A NEWB SECTION ??

seriously, without offending anyone starting. a lot of forums do cut that well and saves a lot of hassle...
i got no time and am not willed to put this all together just to find it not getting sticked and besides i dont feel like an expert in teaching those basics.
a section only for that would save a lot of time and hassle to all of us. there should be found one sticky with just something like 1-3 video tutorials for each topic. they should be closed, so no discussion on that sticky one.
what do you guys think?

I say I'm a newbie and will remain a newbie for the rest of my life - there shouldn't be a difference among us, neither a line between the new guys and the pro's. We are all in this together, and should try in just sharing and not labeling.
In the "guitar dojo", this idea is exploited, and i bet you there are tons of newbies that can teach the most proficient pros a couple of tricks 
Regarding stickies, well I think they end up clogging the forum it there are too many. I'd say for isra to enhance the search functionality. Also, what is absolutely correct today is completely wrong tomorrow, so a closed sticky with information will eventually become obsolete.

definitely fix the search function. I hate to dog my beloved Isratrance but it really is the pits. Some of my searches haven't even returned a topic I was searching for!
Swap "newb" for "beginner" and I think this is a good idea.

well, wasnt meant offending, surely newb is a extensive proverb, sorry. i agree i will never feel pro, anyways im sure theres nothing wrong about a section for those new to the forum and music production just looking for basic information. like meantioned above, this is not provided by the search or any section of this forum.
some forum nettiquette isnt that wrong too.... "hello buds, im ... got a prob,... where can i find....listen my music....,etc." is not that really expected content of a "production and music making" section.
yeah, surely how a bass is done is.... anyways, its asked daily in is really something we would benefit of if seperated.
the name should not be that issue, never said it has to be named newb section

search fonction yeah should be better..lot of posts are answered thousand of times
lot of threads are mroe or less beginer oriented.. what would be discussed in the "advanced" section? acoustics? there is better forum for this..equipment ? we have equipment forum part and again there is better forum for this.. it would be kinda empty i think |

we can be happy that the forum still exists. I even don`t think there is much manpower to fix the search or even moderate and move such newb threads in a certain area.

I think it's kind of natural in a forum like this that people rush in and start making questions before even going through what's been said before about it.
I think it would be cool if someone would gather some of the best answers and made them readily available to those in the need for it. Better still, as this would be a very tedious task made by some very gentle soul without a proper salary, why not just add some tagg functionality? People could label it stuff like Sound Design, Lead, Mix, so forth and so on.
And perhaps people could rate those answers so we could find the top rated ones faster.
might be a cool idea, no? |

No offence taken mate, I was simply doing that coz Knocz thinks he's still a Newb and that's just not the truth!
I've no strong feelings on the matter at all.
I remember my first visit here and it was like opening Aladdin's Cave, I can hardly criticize anyone else for going "holy fuck!!"
There's still a ton of "how to...bass" questions. Doesn't bother me but I can see why it might bother others.

if the search was sorted, this alone would really help people to not ask the same questions again and again. its very easy to say to someone, "read the old topics " about certain questions, but there is hundreds of pages with hundreds of threads going back over a decade. so its not very easy to find the answer to your question, so then it gets asked again. which dosnt really bother me, but i know some people get abit shitty about it.
i would love the search to be better in here.

well i´d love that too, but like suloo already mentioned there might be some lack of workpower for that ^^ it would be quite some hassle and i really like that idea of a new section with that "cookbook (:D) sticky like ....
i dont feel like i got that time left doin everything on my own, anyways i´d be free to moderate and help on that issue. i´d try my best to keep calm and be kind ^^
