Meaning?

Meaning that if they have a cd player in their car, then they just put it inside and it works.
But if they want to play it on a pc, it gets complicated. Playing files just easier. And you get the bonus of tagging and organizing in folders. So yes, you can rip the cd to your HD (which is what I do for example) but that's only because I know how. I doubt that most people know how to do it.

I would say the same as all my mates know how to import tunes in their computers, but all my mates are not most people, so I can't make an educated guess.

I bought the first DH album from Basilisk when he came out and played at a party of ours in 09. If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't know who they were and other people in my car wouldn't have heard them either.
Bring a few cds, make some friends at the party, ask them if they'd like to support your efforts after you play. It's not usually for a huge amount, but I've yet to see this fail. http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

We do hand out CDs to people were we play, besides obviously the promoters taht book us and the people that hang out with us at the hotel. We just burn them our selves of the mac.

Importing CDs is easy as hell if you have itunes (which anyone with an ipod does, and many people have ipods)
You literally just put the CD in and press one button.
Ripping CDs hasn't been a difficult thing to do for like 5 years. |

It could be easy, but you need to be aware to the fact that you can do it.
I'm sure most people would think about it for a second they would realize that it's possible, but they never did it so they'd just turn to downloading the thing (which they did many times) instead of ripping.

Pff, hell no, I don't pay to get a wav or mp3 file on my computer. I love to buy cd's (with booklets, stickers, handwritten poetry, graphix, etc). Tbh I like holding a cd in my hands more than a file on my computer. |

allways good to have a few cds with you ,
after the years, people knows you have cds and they buy allways .....
i have plenty of example where i sell more then 10 cds in a party.
1 time in zagreb a sell 20 cds in 30 minutes in a squat the day before the party .....
the whole speech about money,,, ach, shame on you artists , you suck balls ....
and also you fucking lazy .....
.. law of attraction ...
if you dont sell is because you are not in the right state of mind ....
by the way :
i'm the KING of selling on parties, nobody can beat me, i train myself for long years in the underground .....
be happy to share with your fans , instead complain about sellings and how poor you are ....
PS
last gig in Hamburg a guy came to me saying , he was waiting my last album from 1 month from Saiko, i offer him a copy for free ....
is not allways about the money .... what about the good vibes ?

"maybe" off topic sorry...
i've just met a friend, he is a psytrance dj (for 2 years) and he buys digital releases on psyshop. i told him about beatport but he didn't knew it !!!
so i think that there is a lack of information about where to buy digital releases on the net.
futur is not cd but digital releases and usb decks.
most important isn't the support but the music.

Sorry, by support I thought you meant..
"supporting the artists" rather than what you seem to mean is the "media/medium".
