Hi All,
Firstly, I must say Indian section is dead as hell. No parties and now people just posting stupid theards.
I had this idea which I never shared, so thought of sharing today.
Okay, very simple...we all have been to parties...dj comes and play their sets and go, artists come and play their sets and go....
However, after 5 yrs of the same things...honestly I would like to have some change in how a set flows in the party.
If...I repeat If I would have a been psy dj...and if I would b playing at a party over this weekend..
I would open a thread and ask ppl on forum of what track they would want to listen when they least expecting..it while dancing their ass offf....
When I am in party..I just die to listen to my fav tracks..cause..i am alrdy highly connected to my inner self and the ppl arnd and whole journey is alrdy a pleasant dream...and all of a sudden dj stops the music and plays my track...first thng I would do is smile...coz i knw..this is my fav track..coz i knw where the breaks..hw it flows...what vocals..it hs..whr it wld tk me high...whr it wld tk me low...
Its this feelings..the feeling of joy..which I would love to give to my fellow raver when I would play..
I would gather as many tracks possible...frm the ppl on forum..and then create a set frm it...so all the ppl comin to my party would hv sumthng to smile for...dance for...
This would nt just make my fellow raver happy bt it wld also distingush me frm othrr dj..coz i m creating a set as per u....catering to maximising ur journey...
I can bet...da day any dj wld start doing this he or she would stand different frm crowd...
I knw djin is tuff...bt if a track is played at every party den it loses..it MAGIC...
if i playing at 180+ bpm den why nt play wth the crowd...put a slow effect in the track n start with shopongle live at solace festival...one of my magical tracks...jst imagine u r flyin..n den its ur fav track...which u heard like 10000ss time...bt it is still worth..it still makes u go high..still put a smile on ur face...everytime u hear..it..either its in ur car..or in ur i pod...
a give me track 1
b give me track 2
c give me track 3
.
.
.
.
. n so on..my set would nt just b set..it wld b sumthng u wld lookout for...coz u knw he is going to mix ur track...n hw nicely i do it....is as per my skills....bt bottomline...u knw its ur track...
something..interesting..had a thght...i hope some dj actually do this would be very interesting....

So basically what you want is an organic jukebox?
I think your suggestion would actually have the opposite effect of what you're looking for - you talk about a track losing its magic when it's played at every party, but guess what: if sets were built only around requests, the same tracks would be played over and over and over again - even more than now.
Of course it's great to hear your favorite tracks at a party, but don't you come to a party to be surprised? Won't it feel even better to suddenly, unexpectedly to hear one of your favorite tracks at some point, instead of having requested it beforehand, and then spend the entire party waiting for those magical 5 minutes where the DJ plays "your" track?
I'm not saying that the dancers at a party have worse taste than the DJ's, and of course a good DJ understands to adjust a set to the different circumstances such as time, crowd and setting, but one of the things that make a good DJ in my opinion is that he/she plays the music he/she likes instead of trying to suck up for what taste he/she thinks the dancers might like. well..I shld hv written in more in depth detail..and I apologise for the same...
ofcourse..if for one party...u tk a particular song den ofcourse in the next it would nt b included....
it wnt b like a jukebox...
coz u r askin ppl which track dey wnt to hear...n choosing whch track u wnt to include in ur set..is upto u...
if u tk 25 trcks from 200 trcks..n u dnt tell it to anyone coming to party what track u r playin...or wht trcks r included in ur set..den surpirse wld still b der...
its jst a thght...to bring fun...ofcourse..for fun u cn shit load of other stufff....as well...bt i ws solely thinkin music wise

I really think that DJs and artists seeing the music in a way very professional... that why I tihnk they can't enjoy the parties like everybody enjoy... they listen the tracks with a critical spirit.... |

As I said this is just an idea.
What i might enjoy not necassary everyone would enjoy the same.
Its an just experiment. However, I appreciate ur thoghts and feedbacks.

I mentioned so many times...track selection...is upto the dj...hw the set flows is dj's responsibility.
5. Experimentation is good....infected r experimenting..astrix is experimentating..
Infected mushroom experimentated..gave us...various sad songs..but the same experimentation gave us heavy weight...one of the finest track u wld seee..
look at astrix...he started with vision, kali..and lookat him..nw...giving us craps like just in time, touched...but all of them just keep coming back with something..
similarly..this is a experiment..it might be boring but one day it will come to u...
