Your friend said that he no longer takes LSD.
It is sad that without drugs people can't have fun at parties, but that's the only way it can be.
You may not take drugs. A lot of people in the scene may not take drugs and come just for the music. But...
We in the psy-trance scene owe everything to LSD.
Without it we wouldn't think of moving to parties from clubs into the forest.
Without it we wouldn't think of having the parties during day-time.
Without it the music wouldn't have developed the way it did. (it would be less psy and more trance...)
Without LSD you wouldn't have the atmosphire that you can only get in outdoor parties.
So if you can enjoy a trance party without drugs, then good for you, but don't expect others to do so.
If people wouldn't have taken acid throughout the years the trance scene wouldn't have been here and if people would stop taking acid the scene will die.
Sad, but true. |

I think MUSIC , first of all , my favourite music , makes me come to parties .
Withal , i'm trying to bounce as much as i can , dancing & enjoy with this dancefloor music .
Nature , people (massive part from this scene that i totally love) , great vibes - all make me come and have a good time (well, at least most of the times )
It's make me sad hearing people who don't care from line-up , artists etc , and only care for their drugs , what to take , how much it costs and so on .

Traveller, I understand why you disagree with me...
It's not easy to admit what I wrote. But my point was that the music, decoration, even the clothes we wear at parties, are all designed to make us feel better on acid.
Swirling and crazy, that's what we love.
I am not saying that the people who don't take drugs are the crazy ones and that everyone should take acid till he finds himself in a mental hospital.
I am saying that it is natural that some people would feel stupid dancing in the woods at around 11 am without drugs. Not everyone is into trance that much.
And besides, once you have taken LSD you will find it hard to achive the same amount of excitement without it.
That's also wrong, but that's the nature of psychedelic drugs. They are stronger than us.

Well if the drugs (LSD or whatever other drug) are stronger than you I suggest you book yourself into a drug addict program. No drugs should be stronger than you. If they are it's because you (or they) got a serious drug additction problem and should get some help.
I have been there and done that and to me life is so much better without drugs... And amazingly I am the one that outlast every drug user in the party by miles... I doubt any LSD head can stay awake longer than me or even dance as much as I could before I had a knee surgery! See my point?

You know what? I am sorry for writing that if people would stop taking acid the scene will die.
I can't predict the future but I know what happened in the past.
The people who started the scene took lots and lots of acid. And that's a fact.
How many times in a party do you hear samples of people mentening LSD? How many tracks have been written about it?
Have you ever wondered why? Maybe it's because IT IS the base of the entire scene?
It is a dengerous drug and I wouldn't recommened anyone to try it. It would be nice if it wasn't the root of all psy-trance, but it is.
It's ok to go to a party without drugs, if that's what you like.
It's not ok not to go to party just because you no longer take drugs. I agree.
But you have to have some drugs in the scene to keep it real. That's what brought us so far. |

We get quite a few alien samples too, maybe the scene is based on aliens? We get quite a few matrix samples too, maybe the scene is based on the matrix? We get quite a few Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas samples too, maybe our entire scene is based on that movie? Dude your way of reasoning is not logical at all. Other than that acid sure as hell is NOT the root of all psytrance.

There's no exclusive person or persons that started the scene.. But a lot of people in many different countries.. I was one of many pioneers in Denmark and some was on Acid some weren't.... It's the exact same all around the globe....

just amuses me how people try to justify their drug usage by saying that without it the scene would die/suffer/etc. nothing against druggies as long as they handle their rugs..
