Why are you going to trance parties?

I came with this topic as some disturbing issues accured to me last weekend.
I was about to go to a party ...and then asked my friend if he'd come, and you know what he said?
he said, I stopped eating LSD, what will I do there?
and I got so angry! "WHAT WILL YOU DO THERE?!"
I almost slapped him! like...do people come to parties because of the drugs?!
What happened to music,vibes , and pure fun ?
It's like...ok, drugs are sometimes very fun, But I wont go to a party that I know I will have drugs there! I will go cause other reasons, last is drugs.
I am not saying anything AGAINST drugs, I am just saying that its the wrong reason, and if one cant have fun without drugs then he'd really better stay home,because he's not contributing to the scene anyway...
I'd love to hear others opinions..

Yes sadly the majority of people go for the drugs. It seem to me that the music come second to a lot of people.
I dont have any statistic facts to back up my opinion so please tell me if I am wrong but it's sure my experience over the last 10 years (and I am pretty sure it's even worse now) that the majority would not go to the parties if they could not get any drugs. I have cuntless times heard tons of people say that they dont want to go to a party because they cant afford to buy drugs so they rather wait until next weekend or party where they can afford the drugs too.
Sad people in my opinion.
Of course some come for the music too. I just think they are the minority at the parties. |

I think most people (including my self) go to parties to listen to the music and meet their friends that cannot see during the rest of the week and have fun alltogether.Some might also enjoy a drink or two.

yes how depressing. but i believe that there are many ppl, myself included who do choose to use drugs at parties but can go sober as well(maybe just a smoke or two:)) One has to accustom ones ears and body to dancing and grooving while under little or no outside influence. Drugs can improve the experience but the experience means nothing if it is consumed by the drug. The experience is hollow if it rests on chemicals.

let them do drugs
it only helps the response on the floor
it is depressing
but hence is the scene we are in
and lets face it, everybody s going to move on
upward and onward
once you have been altered
some for the better
others .... oh well!
bottom line Ananda dont slap your friend for his choice
its is his choice

the main reason why i still go to parties after 6 years are the international festival experiences, un comparable to pretty much anything. Meeting people with simular interests during my travels, seeing some parts of this globe while i'm at it.
about your friend: 95% of the long term drug users i know, that quit doing drugs, also quit going to parties. only few people are strong enough to resist the temptations they might be confronted with at parties.

the main reason is to have fun!
the second reason is that sometimes i encounter my family there 
the third reason....etc...
i think there are no specific reason, but a lot of thngs that motivate me 2 go...certain of a "calling"

You donno how many drives I made with my friends around the country to get drugs before the party (not for me, but for them) because they can't bare the thought they will come to the party without drugs and not find any!
I always tell em to relax because there's DEFINITELY gonna be drugs in the party, and still, they say "no no , I dont wanna count on it, lets go get em" and it's driving me mad because the party is in the east and they wanna travel one hour north just because of it...
the most annoying people are the ones who see you digging and jumping and come to you " hey , I want what you took , where can I get it ? " and then I need to convince them I am just happy with no reason ...

for the last couple of months for me it's mostly to just meet my friends and have fun, since our partys have around 100 ppl max, always in the same place, with the same ppl, so we all know each other and everyone always has a good time, plur

Some people take it as a "package", I mean, The Party for them is a combination of several things: music, vibe, people, drugs. If any of those things is not "right", so this is not The Party, but just a party...
And if some people want to have the whole package, why they should to give up ?
If you are going to spend a lot of money in Las Vegas casino for example, will you go there by hitch-hiking and will you live there in a tent on the street ?
No, you will flight there with the first class, and you will stay in the 5 star hotel.
Got my point ?

Well basically I am going to Trance Parties when I want to hear Psychedelic Trance..
And I am going to an HipHop event when I want to see a good HipHop Live...
I am also going to Reggae events when I want to see a good Reggae Live...
I thought it was evidence.......
